Back To The Drawing Board

Last Update: January 03, 2015

Some of you would have seen or read my blog entitled "Two New Ventures" which I post back in November 2014. In that blog I informed that I had two amazing new venture on the horizon and I shared about one in a bit of detail. Well, unfortunately, the one that I shared about, the purchase and ownership of a local small business, has fallen through, for now at least.

Truth is, I actually made a conscious decision not to go ahead with it. Reason being, I was going into the venture with a partner but over the past two months, that individual has proven themselves quite unreliable and unwilling to fully commit to the preliminary logistics that needed to go into acquiring the business. I therefore decided to cancel all business plans with the individual as that type of behaviour is not good for a business partnership. I foresaw a multitude of challenges in the future and I preferred to avoid that. At the moment, I have no one else who is will to enter into a partnership with me to purchase the business (and I do need a partner to share financial and physical investments) so I have given up the opportunity.

I am disappointed because it would have been a very profitable investment but I am also relieved that I detected the problems now, before I got too involved, rather than later. Later would have been much worse. I have not given up on the prospect of owning a small business locally though, hence I have returned to the drawing board. It is still very possible, I just have to delay those plans for a few months and do a bit of restructuring. With my faith in tact, I know that nothing shall be impossible.

As always, blessings and success to everyone.

You were very wise to make a head decision and not be anxious. The stars will align for you and the next opportunity will be even better. You should be proud of yourself, you have done good!

Thanks for telling about your venture, I remember I read it several weeks ago, glad you detected the poorly stake of your compagnon to be in this early stage. By the way, I took up your 52 weeks saving scedule, started out with 52 and from now on, every week down to 1:) greetings Loes

Good! I pick random what I can spare that week and have crossed away for €183 now, unfortunatelly the 1-4 is crossed and not available anymore, but I am very proud I have save 183 on my bankaccount! (I was just thinking about you, yesterday:)

I agree...wise move to pull out. Your gut feelings are usually right. More power to you to stick with it and try again after regrouping. Best of luck!
