Subniche is giving me mixed signals. what next?
So my experiment to jump to a different subniche has me confused. At first, it looked like an upward trend (I started on December 10). Since that time, I posted 2 new posts a day. I now have 20 posts in that subniche out of about 140 posts total. It seems to be accounting for about a third or more of my traffic.
But I am a little concerned.
For the last 3 days, the number of impressions is decreasing. The number of posts went from 14-20, but the impressions decreased from almost 2600 a day to 1600 (putting that in perspective, the average on bing before December 10 was around 150, so that's still huge).
So... should I try something different? Cut back to one a day and try to improve a few posts? Should I go to social media?
But then I did a little more digging and saw this in GSC:
Google is waking up maybe? Most of the impressions from yesterday were in the subniche. Up until yesterday I saw maybe a handful of impressions a day. Maybe keep going for a few more days?
This kind of exciting if Google is taking notice. Going back to March 15, when the HCU took this blog out, I averaged TWO IMPRESSIONS A DAY...
Another sign is that Google Analytics looks like it jumped up since December 10th as well...
Another spike? Maybe. Let's give it a few more days and see. I have 11 more posts scheduled over the next 5 days... Maybe I will get more clarity then.

This was lifted from one of my FB groups. The caption was “what just happened?”
His blog crashed the same day mine did and came back today, as it appears mine did
Maybe an end to the curse of the HCU? Who knows?
google has released another update so you may be being caught in this....
stop looking very short term...
3 days is not even a blink af a google eye....
3 weeks and the google eye may be opened
and search console is definitely not 'real time'
i had a site go off line due to hosting issues ( not here) and only after 4 days sis search console start whining about 404 errors...
so you are looking at least 4 days delay in metrics....
you should be averaging over at least 1 month - preferably 3 months...
this will account for variance due to summer holidays and winter holidays....
edit: now the power is back on
i just received an email again saying search console has 404 errors on that site - so at least 6 days behind....just hit validate fix....
does this means they want the advantage of more real time data and leave the rest of us guessing....
