I was lucky to be one of those people who was able to work durring the heat of the pandemic.
I was required to isolate for 14 days but I was among the minimal staff that was brought back to work on essential services.

Although for me, the fear of the outbreak only took hold when the grocery store started selling out of canned goods.

Durring my 14 days off, I reflected on our world, our economy, political ideals and where it may take us in the future.

Thank Goodness for Good Service

My first jobs were in service. Like many young suburbanites, I worked in a local store. It was a really nice laid back job while I decided my next step in life. That was 20 years ago and in a way , I wish I never left those "dead end jobs".

I've learned that the people who seround you everyday, will inadvertently be reflected within your own demeanor. After working in three different industries and 3 economic crashes, my anxieties for the survival of our local businesses has left me asking a lot of questions about the future.

With a great many technological advancements from the digital age, we are entering a new way of living, interacting an engaging with our peers and environment.

However, even with technology like trucks that drive themselves and drone servers, human suffering will continue as those who serve us begin to disapear.

In this time I think of my bus driver in the morning. I take public transport. In the city, you will often get a cold reception when you say hello or ask a driver for information.

In the outskirts of the city, the attitude is different.

I have great conversations with my driver. We share many of the same interests and although he is old enough to be my father, I teach him guitar theory.

We only got one lesson in before the outbreak, but I can't wait for the next one.

Thank Goodness for Essential Workers

So, this pandemic has brought out the best and the worst in humanity. I believe that in these time of uncertainty, there are too many who abuse the fear.

There was a big campaign for an unregulated test kit and also another for a miracle cure all.

This, is just bad marketing and it really disgusts me.

But at the same time, there have been many celebritites and other people of authority who use their influence and money to help others.

There are also healthcare workers who are among the essential services and the lifeline for the ill.

My sisters work in healthcare and after high death tolls in nursing homes, it was an easy decision to volunteer and help train staff to properly take care of the elderly.

Within Our Life Value, There is Always a Guiding Light

I never thought of becoming a marketer. I'm hyperactive and I need a good days work to feel a sense of productivity at the end of the day. I always felt that to be a marketer, I would need the flashy coat of temptation of the salesman from Needfull Things. It seemed like a dishonest career path.

But building an on line business is not just about the bottom line and profits. It's about information, service and giving the customer value, be it a discount or just a pleasant hello.

It's also about being the guide and helping others. It's about leadership and stepping up to the plate even though you may not want to.

Because often in life, you have no choice.
