AI to be programmed to “think” like a baby

Scientist and researchers are still puzzled by some aspects on how we achieve the fundamental understanding that common-sense laws of the physical world are universally understood by humans.

If I show a ball, then hide it behind my back, the ball still exists ( although you can’t see it anymore). We can all agree it still exists, and probably has the same shape and color that it had before it went behind my back. This is common sense!

Artificial intelligence systems have defeated human at chess, poker, and other countless other games. But machines are still not that great at understanding some basic rules about the physical world.

Engineers had built a machine-learning system based on research on how babies’ brain works, and it did better on certain tasks than its conventional counterparts.
