Our Quest So Far with Wealthy Affiliates

Well, I just joined WA on February 4th, And I decided that this would be a good place to track my progress and help new people along the way if they have any questions as to how long and what are the steps to being successful at Online Marketing because I definitely have a goal at being very successful no matter how long it takes. I do know it is going to take time and effort.

We had tried the affiliate thing back in 98 when we got our very first computer.(we are in our 50’s and were not so lucky to grow up with the computer age) We had used computers at work but knew nothing about writing code. My husband dabbled in it a little and we knew that there was money to be made but it was going to take a lot of time and effort. Our kids were little and we both worked very long hours at the time. So we kind of gave it up at the time but I had always tried different things from time to time as the years went on. Still knowing that many people are very successful at internet marketing.

I tried it again pretty seriously 3 years ago, even had purchased 5 domains of my own and thought I was going to do really well. But, another obstacle…our daughter got into trouble and I had to focus my time, money and effort on her.

After that fiasco was over, I finally had moved up to Oregon where I wanted to be at least in the spring and summer for the peace and beauty that this place has. I am an artsy/craftsy person and its the perfect place for that. I was only here for a couple months when my cancer returned. So back to California. I had also been attending college, but that even had to go on hold.

So here we are finally back in Oregon but really needing to supplement our income…that is if we want the financial freedom we loathe for and we know we are capable of. One day about a month ago I was doing a search on Google about online marketing scams(of all things…LOL) and I found WA. I couldn’t be happier. We can’t afford two accounts right now, which was our plan to begin with. So we have started with one and we are both working on our website.

We both have a passion for and love riding motorcycles. We have been riding motorcycles the past 20+ yrs. We have gone all over the US and Mexico. Our dream is to be able to travel wherever we want to go. So, her we are today, we have been working day and night creating content, going through the training, and I try to read at least 5 different blogs every day to learn something new. And boy, let me tell you. My mind is so full… its going to explode…LOL. I have changed the theme once, and I really like the new theme I chose. We still have not bought our domain, that is happening next week.

But, my husband writes all the content….so far anyway. And I am creating the website. Since I am at little quicker at the keys on the computer. So far we have 9 pages built and I believe to date we have 12 posts. Now, I am working on keywords and SEO and trying to learn how to show up on Google. We post 2-3 tweets every day now. And also 2-3 posts on Google plus. I also need to create a Facebook Page for our Niche/Website.

I also started a Blog with Google blogger. But that one is very slow it seems so I am looking for another. I try to network as much as possible also here on WA. The next step is to get signed up with another affiliate program once we get our domain. We have Amazon and WA only at this point and we of course have not made any money yet, but I do see a few clicks. Which is promising! …Also I had tried to sign up with one of the other affiliate programs the other day(AvanteLINK) and we were denied, so I think it is because we don’t have our own domain. I know that is imperative. Like I said I am going to be blogging my progress, mainly so I can come back and see our progress. Thank you for reading. I know it is long. Hopefully not too boring.
