There are times when you are ready to write a new content for your website but don't have much time to do it, or you want to write but you are experiencing writer's block. Kind of frustrating right? And there are really times like this. So, to lessen the frustration, let's start doing the simple steps stated below, to make us a productive writer.

Simple Steps to Store your Ideas

Materials to prepare:

  • Notebook (Small or Medium, depends on your preference)
  • Pen
  • Ruler

How to do it:

  1. Fold the first page of your notebook, or second or third, whichever you prefer. Write your website name on it. This is good if you have other websites that you are running.
  2. On the next paper right after the folded one, write your website first menu tab on it. Then do this again to the other next pages of your notebook. Only one menu tab on each pages. Note: Better to name your first tab as "Home" so that your blog roll post topics would be written here. And don't put menu tab on the back of each paper.
  3. Draw a line on the paper to create a column, putting "Description" and "Remarks" on top. Better give the "Description" column a wider space. This is where you will write the topics of your posts/pages.
  4. Use number or bullet, whichever you prefer, in writing the topics for each tab pages in your notebook.
  5. After writing those published posts/pages, put a note under remarks column, this time it would be published.

So now that the website framework is done, you can start writing topics related to your niche that crosses your mind. Write all the topics you can think of and stop when it seems there's no more to write. Do this everytime you can think of topics. Most of the times, an interesting topic will cross our minds when we do something different like house chores, when we are travelling, watching, or just relaxing.

In this way, those topics will not be forgotten once we jot them down on our framework notebook. And everytime you feel like writing, you just open your notebook and look for the topics that may interest you. By doing this, we can never be run out of articles to write.

I know this is sounded old school, but I prefer doing this rather jotting all my ideas inside my tab. It is more easier also because you can bring this anywhere with you and can write topics once a light bulb pops out.

Pointers to Remember:

  • Place this notebook of yours in a place that can be easily seen and pick by you.
  • Bring this with you everytime you step out of your house. So you can easily jot down your ideas.
  • Take care of it and treat it as your diary.
  • Don't forget to strikethrough the topic or put remarks on the topic you already created, whether publish, pending, soon to publish with date, need pictures, and so on.

Hope this simple steps can help you be more productive. And oh by the way, it's better to look for a notebook with an already tab on it.
