In Two Weeks.

Well, it has been about two weeks since I joined the WA community. I had been lurking around the internet, sort of eavesdropping on a lot of different people, and websites, that had to do with Affiliate Marketing. It sounded interesting. Work for 30 minutes per day and become rich seemed to be the main topic that was relentlessly pushed. Of course, I knew that sounded too good to be true, but there were SO many different versions of this that I was still intrigued. So I dug a little deeper. I found a page that offered outstanding results, did my research, and even paid for a beginner course. That course was not a scam, but at the end of the beginner course, there was a very heavy-handed presentation imploring me, "Don't quit, now" and asking me to buy into their training program for a very large sum of money! I don't have a very large sum of money and was immediately turned off by the presentation. I also had noticed that the main focus was not on what I could do for my readers/visitors, but was more about me. Which is fine, but I am by nature a "helper" and wanted my website (I had by now decided that I wanted my own) to be about more than that. I do not think their program was a scam, but it was not to my taste. Do I want to make money doing this? Of course I do! Do I want to help or inform people? Absolutely! Could I do both was the question.

Then I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate. They blog that I read promised a free training course, free support, free this, and free that. I wasn't sure I could trust it, but took a closer look. To my surprise, it turned out to be true! There were no heavy-handed sales tactics, no pushing me to "not be a quitter", no telling me that I was going to be rich overnight, which I actually liked. Who really believes that, anyway? I was given some straightforward easy to understand information that allowed me to create a website, add content, learn what I needed to do to drive traffic, and in general, got me started. I am very happy to have found Wealthy Affiliate!

I haven't made any money, yet, and that's ok. I did not expect to at this point. What I have done is create a beautiful (in my opinion) website that I can expand and grow in a niche that is very near and dear to my heart. I am about to move on to Course 3 and look forward to figuring out the next steps. I can't wait until I do start to earn money, because then I can begin to plan an exit strategy from the mind-numbing day to day job that I presently have, which leaves me no time for family or friends and is not fulfilling in the least.

Wealthy Affilitates made it possible for me, with no experience building a website to get up and running in less than a week. I did a search today on some of my keywords, and a page from my website showed up on the first page of the Google search! It just made me that much more excited to push forward and do more.

If I can do this, you can, too! If you have a dream, you have to work for it, and WA gives you all the tools that you need all for a price that just about anybody can afford! Let's face it, the introductory month price is less than some of us could spend in two days' time for our lunch. So, I highly recommend this website to anybody that has a product to sell, a desire to help others by getting knowledge out there, or just (like me) has a passion for something they love, and want to share with others. If you are doing what you love, you can have a better life. This certainly does not feel like work to me.
