Basic Tips For Your Blog
I don't want to go into to a ton of details here, I'll try to keep is short and semi-sweet. These tips might not be on the top of everyone's list, but they should be pretty darn close, so I'll just get to it.
- Know Your Audience: Sounds simple right? It's key to know who you are writing for, you don't want to be writing in-depth over-the-top details or juvenile cutsie stuff if your audience isn't going to expect it. Keep the expectations of the reader in mind.
- Know Your Personal Goals: There is a better chance of success if you know what you hope to accomplish with your blog. Jot it down, where you want to be in 6, 12 months to 2 years.
- Persistence Pays Off: Make a post schedule, stick to it. The best way to keep readers engaged is to always have a new post for them to see. If they visit your site once every few weeks and nothing is changed, chances are they won't come back.
- Don't Be Afraid Of Risks: Try new things within your blog, take a couple risks. These risks don't have to be colossal, try a couple small things; new plug-ins, email sign-ups, etc. These ricks will enhance your blog and keep it fresh.
- Call To Action: Make readers feel like they are appreciated by joining a conversation by leaving a comment on your blog. Replying to the readers comments is huge as it gives them the sense of value.
- Always Be Yourself: As an extension of you, your blog must give a clear picture of yourself. Personality is key, infuse yourself into each and every post. You are not a reporter, readers want to come to you to get your opinion, if your blog is just giving the facts, the reader may not be inclined to come back. Throw in a little spice and they'll want to see what you'll say next.
How'd I do, not too wordy right? These are just the basics, the bare necessities. There are a lot of keys to a successful blog, but if you start here, you will heading in the right direction. Blog-On!!
Thanks for spending some time with me - I'll see ya around ;)

A very good read indeed; helps us remember and apply what we need to do to write an effective blog. Thank you and keep up the good work
I try to do at least one per week. If you're going to do more, make sure you're not putting fluff out there just to get post done.
