What does this mean please? If I select their banner code and put it onto my site, is that hardcoding it?

Hardcoding would be to use a different banner or a screenshot to link to them instead of using the code supplied which would use the banner they have stored on their website. Using the code they supply gives them more control of the images used. ~Marion

Good question and thanks Marion. I just learned about hard coding.
What would be a reason to use hardcodeing?

Hi yes, this is the Affiliate site I have signed up to which is how the question has originated. I hoped someone on here might be able to explain it in an easy to understand way.
It's an Affiliate site which multiple retailers have signed up to to run their programs for them. It's like a one stop shop - so through this one platform I can sign up for all sorts of merchants that relate to my niche (or any other niche for that matter). It's worth a look. Here is the US link: http://www.affiliatewindow.com/us/
There are also links for other countries too.

it would be really hardly to refer back to some of the posts that I have read as a refresher.... Is there a way I can save or bookmark them in WA
See Helen has covered it for you click star give your post/training a tag and when you need it click star and it will all come up,you can also see your history on left hand side gives you were you have been
Just remember when you do click on the star write your tag with the most important word (to you) first. Since the list of favourites is alphabetical this helps you find what you want quicker.
Hello,
I think this really a good question and as far as I know there is no real Bookmark system provided...
(I bookmark them in my browser when I want to keep a post/blog/training)
There is a TAG provided, see attachment and you have to fill in something a "keyword" so you can look it up later...
But I don't use that feature...
So for me the easiest way is bookmark in the browser....
Grtz,
Bert
When you have a post you want to bookmark, click on the star on the left near top of post.....you can now tag it what ever you want.
Later, when you want to look for it, click the star in the upper question bar, and all of your bookmarks are listed there.
It's a pretty cool option!
Aaaah , that's how it works!!!
I didn't know that, I thought you had to search on the TAG names...
But this is better then bookmarking in the browser!
Thks KrazyKat!
Indeed! But I never have had the intention to click on the star and to see what happens and it is actually as simple as 1+ 1 = 2

Hi Everyone
I'm pretty confused about this whole issue. I'm reading on here that you generally shouldn't allow Users on your site (I have mine set to 'Subscriber' curren
Please can you look at this as I am concerned about who can access your back of your website they can harm it. Wordpress tip of the day - Problem with new user registration
Hi Katie
Thanks so much for this. I have deleted all of the 'Users' apart from myself as admin and unchecked the box on the Settings page.
Much appreciated.
Thank you
Jane
Users is those who access the back office to create your content or manage your site. currently you will be the only user.
Subscribers are the people who will join your mailing list and you will treat them much like a customer.. might be you have created something that you think might be of interest to them and send them the details.
The list is (e-mails) you at some point will create a page whereby someone will click it fill in their details with their email address for you to contact them.
I hope this explains it for you
Thanks Katie
That does help a bit, I think...
Am I able to see who all my subscribers are/manage my mailing list? If so, where might I access that please? What is the difference in how they subscribe, if any?
In my Wordpress 'Users' section, I have 29 'Subscribers' and one 'Admin' (which is me).
Thanks - Jane
Aha! Went on ~Wordpress Forums and found a useful thread.... I've been looking in the wrong place!
Just realised that I need to look at Site Stats (which is hidden under JetPack).
Can you show us what you mean you should only have one user which is admin.. do you have a sign up page
you need to remove the subscribers so people cannot just add themselves, I have given a link below please go and follow the instructions

You'd rarely need to, only later once you are an advanced user.
