My dance, my faith

Hey, Everybody,

Well, I'm still a rookie in training but I though now was as good a time as any to kind of introduce myself a give you a little backgriound into me, what I am about and where I want to go with WA.

As I mentioned in my bio, I'm a native Texan, I am married, I have been studio taught and trained in the American style of Ballroom, Latin and Swing dance, having taught with Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray studios as well as several independents here in Texas.

Dance and music are the two passions I have that make up at least fifty percent of who I am as an individual.

I love working with and helping people learn to dance and seeing their lives changed as a result of their new found confidence that they have gained through social dancing. I know of the power that social dance has to help chang lives and heal and transform lives and relations because I've been there and have experienced that very thing myself.

As strange as it may sound (especially to those in the Bible belt part of the country) I am what many consider to be a strange breed because as a Christian I make social dance a regular part of my lifestyle and a lot of people look down on and berate me because of I'm used to it though because I've had to put up with it for so many years now.

I could go on and on as to how this kind of attitude among the church where social dancing is concerned pisses me off because they are so closed mi ded to the idea that Christians are not allowed to dance if they want to have a strong testimony for Christ. But I totally disagree with this kind of closed minded thinking that's why I have written a book on the subject ( yet to be published though) and someday would love to tell that story on the bg screen.

Yes, my faith is important to me and yes, I will continue to promote social dance among the church community whether they like it or not because to that's who I am, what I believe and along as I do what I can to testify of ChristJesus through dance and dance conduct on the floor, I will continue to promote that message without any guilt or hesitation

As far as my being on WA. I want to get out the message and passion of social dance out into the world in a whole new perspective and outlook than what they may be used too, promote other types of dsnce along the way, do a little online teaching and educating and make a little money along the way.

Alrighty, then, I guess that pretty much sums it up as far as I go, so I'll shut up for now and I will talk at you guys later.
