Just getting started...then...WHAMMO!

It's been just a couple of weeks since I joined here. Had no idea what Affiliate Marketing was about. I signed up and began my journey. I've learned a lot in the short amount of time I've been here. Have been going through the Action Plan and have gained a lot of knowledge about how to get started and what steps to take to be successful. Questions have been answered when I've asked them and I was beginning to become more confident with each passing day. The excitement was rising with my newly found knowledge that if I apply myself and my teachings, the sky is the limit. It won't be easy, but with knowledge and persistence, my efforts will be rewarded.

Then, WHAMMO!....like a bolt of lightening piercing through a peaceful sky, my whole confidence and belief system is rattled with a bill that my state legislature passed referred to as the "Amazon Tax" (Affiliate Nexus Tax - Bill 3659). It didn't just pass, it was a landslide, as shown by the approval of an 88 - 29 vote in favor of this bill.

Now I have no idea what to do. This has taken some wind out of my sails to say the least. It's frustrating and really puts a damper on my hopes to become involved in an industry that I was just beginning to learn and develop some confidence in. My hope now is that our governor will see the consequences other states have suffered at the passing of this bill and veto this thing.

I hope that my fellow Illinois affiliates won't suffer the same fate as others have before us and I feel for those whose livelihoods have been affected in this manner.

I'm trying to stay positive throughout this but there's this little obnoxious voice in the back of my head saying "What a BUMMER......"
