Sometimes we need to step back to move forward (towards success)

2 years at Wealthy Affiliate -but what does it mean?

I was working flat out for most of my two years building my 2 fantastic websites.

Top 100 on the dashboard and flying. It felt like I was unstoppable.

I could touch my dreams.

Out of know where I hit a brick wall.

I could not even look at my laptop.

I could not figure out why I even started doing this?

My computer actually broke and felt relief. I would tell myself I now have an excuse not to carry on.

I needed to take a few steps back and figure out why I started doing this in the first place.

Why did I join this platform?

What are my reasons for doing this?

when you become so determined to drive for money you lose the values that mean so much to you. I lost my soul, and jumping on to wealthy affiliate had become a chore, and not a very pleasant one for me.

So stepping back for a few months made me realise a few important truths.

This is a journey we all go on when we sign up. It is about growing and learning as a person.

We are looking for a way to change and improve ourselves from something in our lives that is not working for us.

Mine was working long hours at a company without feeling like I existed.

A journey of self discovery

The time away made me ask many difficult questions of myself and I realised I need to change to be the person I want to be.

Want to get anywhere in this life you need to try to understand yourself first.

It is so tough asking difficult honest questions of yourself, but the rewards are enormous.

I love to help and serve others, but I had been so focused on other pursuits that this part of me was lost.

I believe that anyone can change anything, at any time, as long as you are willing and take action on what it right for you.

I also realised I am not able to go at 100 miles per hour, and perfection does not exist. We can only do the best we can, at that specific time.

Out of the blue I was gifted a new laptop and the questions began again. Should I carry on with Wealthy Affiliate or just pack it in for good?

How can I just walk away after I have put in 2 years of so much hard work and learning?

That is when I made the decision that I have the power to make my websites into anything I want to. Everything I add to them, from now on, will be to serve others first.

As long as I am willing to learn and stay curious then I am growing and moving forward with my life.

The fire is back in my belly so let's see where I can take this.

What you can learn in 2 years?

  • :I have built 2 Websites from scratch. When I started I knew nothing. I simply followed the lessons from kyle...lesson 1 and took it from there.
  • : you will learn to do things for yourself. No one is going to beg or ask you to do the next task. If you want to succeed you will need to get into the habit of doing it yourself.
  • :once you begin and see what is possible you realise you are capable of more than you thought was possible.
  • : setting goals is vital to your success
  • :taking action is the biggest skill you can learn. Without it you will never begin.
  • :asking question to the community is key to your learning process
  • Doing your best is all you can from yourself.
Why set goals for yourself?

By doing this you have a plan and a direction you are moving yourself in.

My first goal

one of my first goals was to hit page 1 on google with any one of my blogs.

At one point I had 13 first pages at once on google, but without that goal how would I have known to keep pushing myself to write better blogs?

The more challenging the goals are the more you will stay focused and working towards it.

Goals = plan = direction = moving forward = acheivments

My second goal

Finish the training lessons. I have finished the training course and am now going though boot . Why because you know very little about anything when you start out, and the only way to get better and become an expert at anything is to lean.Knowledge is king.

My Third goal

Make social media platforms work for me. Remember when you start out you have no idea what a social media platform is.

We have all heard of Facebook, Twitter, Insagram, etc but how do you actually use them?

In two years this is what you can do

2 Facebook fan pages

4000 followers on twitter

400 followers on Instagram ( im new to it:)

3000 followers on Pinterst

1 YouTube Chanel (very new to this)

These are things I can grow as and when I want to but without the lesson at wealthy affiliate I would still be none the wiser.

I have also studied how to use mailchimp for emails (avoid they don't like affiliate marketers)

and aweber (which I recomend for email list growing)

The biggest lesson I have leaned is...

This community is the best.

Everyone is always there for you no matter what.

Treat the people on here as you would like to be treated.

Kind, courteous, caring, generous, and positive, and this platform can open up a whole new world of success to you.

I wish you all the best no matter what part of the journey you are on and if you are a new person to this platform. Welcome and keep going towards your dreams.

NEVER GIVE UP - LIFE IS A JOURNEY NOT A DESTINATION.

Here's to the next 2 years and finding my inner peace

cheers
