Looks like I'm going to have to pay the 600 dollars that was stolen from me through a Pay Pal hacker. I thought the payment would not go through because I canceled my credit card. But it did. It took longer than usual but it still went through because I had a bank account linked to Pay Pal. I wanted to break the link but Paypal would not let me because they wanted at least one money source in my account until something definate happened with the pending the transaction.
I thought the bank would stop the transaction because I did not have enough money to cover it. It went through anyway. I called my bank. They fixed it so my account will only accept deposits for the time being. If I get refunded it will come through but no other withdrawals will be able to happen. Then I need to get my account number changed because it has been compromised.
I called Paypal this morning. I was told I was not likely to get a refund because the money taken was a personal cash deposit. I made an appeal anyway but I am not hopeful.
Meanwhile I can't order new electronic books from Kindle because my Canadian Amazon account no longer exists. I can read what I already purchased but I cannot get anything new.
I just got an answer from my appeal. Paypal still states my transaction was authorized. I will be closing that account today. I have better ways to pay for merchandise since I opened that account. For the moment I'm also wary about ordering merchandise on line.
