Just want to know if adsense sows your website down?
its a third party addon - so it will slow your site down by having to call their site for information....
and the adverts may only pay a very small amount- so your decision...
Does adsense slow your website down?

It may slow it down slightly in some cases, but it's pretty much unnoticeable as far as speed change for the most part.

Hi,
Who has tips to lower the bouncerate of a website?
Thanks in advance
Kind regards Simone
Here are some things we do.
Make sure the content is engaging and fully covers the title of the blog.
Make sure the meta description that displays in the search results accurately describes the content so people will read that they are expecting.
Use a captivating image at the top of the post.
Embed a related video
Make sure the structure flows and there are enough white spaces and some images to illustrate the content.
Interpreting the bounce rate can be tricky...
If a person lands on one of your pages or posts from research, does not interact with any link or goes to any other page inside your website within 30 seconds, it will count as a bounce rate.
So what I do is I set a trigger on Google tag manager to fire up an event if a person stays more than 15-20 seconds on a page or post.
That way, I have a realistic estimate of how long a visitor stays on my website.
Ways to lower bounce rate:
» try to improve the intro of your posts to entice people to keep reading,
» providing related articles in your posts either with anchor text links or compelling text hooks.
» keep your website clean & fast.
I hope I could be of help
Cheers
Pedro
Though I wouldn't worry about bounce rate too much, the best way to reduce bounce rate is to mention and link to other posts within your posts in a natural way.
It might also be worth thinking about some phrases or concepts you mention a lot and create content for that.
Hope this helps :)
Hi - a high bounce rate is not something to be necessarily concerned about. It is simply a metric that indicates that somebody has read only one post on your site.
However, if that one post fully answered their question, then they will be satisfied and have no need to go elsewhere.
Or, if it was a product review, perhaps they clicked straight from your post to go to the merchant's page.
Do be aware that some of the training on WA as regards bounce rate is very out of date and does not reflect today's thinking on the subject.

Hi
I get this message when ilook at my pagespeed insight, but how do I solve this?
Thanks in advance
Simone
Another possibility is that the width= and height= are missing. But that should automatically show up in your media library and that should be picked up when you add media in your post.
Does your image html code for block editor include
wp-image-100 (yours won't be 100 but something like that) along with the image URL?
The size allows the browser calculate an aspect ratio (the ratio of the width to the height) and allocate enough space for the image before it loads.
it depends on which images are missing the width and height and whether they are causing you an issue ( other than google moaning about them)...
if your cls ( content layout shift ) is showing an error then it maybe that this issue is causing all the content to move when the page is loading....
if you want ot go further with this then this resource may help a little

Hi,
My website is to slow and shows CLS problems, what is that?
and how can I change all my images to the right sizes to speed up my website?
Thanks in advanc
cls is cumulative layout shift.....what is that....
well ...when you goto a web page and see the text , you think brilliant...you start reading...
then an ad loads above what you are reading and your text shifts down....grrr...so you scroll down a bit to carry on ...
then it happens again...and again ...
this is cumulative layout shift....
how can you make all the images on your site smaller ...edit them to the right size and reupload them....it is a tedious job....
file size for a typical post image is 40kb....
for a featured image 80kb
header less than 200kb
so everything needs to be small before you upload...then the compressor can do its job...
this was done for someone else but repreated here as possibly relevant
goto plugins
then goto add new
and type in async-javascript into the search box....
you should find that one as the first result
install
underneath that result you should find autoptimize
install that one also....
click on activate on async-javascript....
and you will be taken to the installed plugins page...
click on settings for async- javascript.
at the top tick enable async javascript
and click the apply defer button below it (image 2)
then click save settings at the bottom
click on plugins
activate autoptimize
scroll down and click on settings for autoptimize
tick
optimize javascript
tick optimize css
tick optimize html
scroll down andclick save changes
tick the optimize images
and the lazy load
click save changes
click on the extra tab
and select the third option in google fonts
Combine and link in head (fonts load fast but are render-blocking), includes
tick remove emojis
tick remove query strings
and save changes.....
this now may have improved your sitespeed - you will need to run sitespeed twice to see any changes....
this may need a bit of tweaking for your site - the last bit about the fonts choose the second or third one
this may increase your sitespeed ...but images are important to reduce.....
good luck
phil
thank you, i am going to install the plugins and then see if i need to resize manually also
for the second plugin, do you mean this one: Async Javascript Optimizer
Thanks Simone
the second plugin is called autoptimize....
it should be done the other way around really but hopefully your speed will improve by adding the plugins
Thanks I have the right ones now :-)
and how do you upload images in your blogs, do you resize them first in Canva?
Simone
i tend to use paint ( pc program)
i will just use the resize part
and if they are still large then change the resolution....
i tend to use
https://www.img2go.com/compress-image
bit clunky but functional
took a 1mb image down to 34kb through size and resolution
oke, i will look at that too
I have another question, if I look at my website now, the images are not good visibile at first? How does that happen? You have to wait and then you see the image?
Sorry for all my questions
Simone
that is due to the images being large or a lazy loader being in place - this is one of the effects of autoptimize with the image part.
try switching it off , your sitespeed will go down but the images will load as the page appears
if the images are small in file size then this will not be a problem
and if you are viewing it on desktop then mobile will be a lot worse....
so you really need to reduce the file size of your images....
Hi, you should have Kraken by default in which you can adjust size by clicking on image before placing it. You have small, median, large and actual sizes.

I am thinking about changing my layout, but what do you thinnk is a gooed theme for a dog blog about dog training, dog health, dog products and more
All tips are welcome
Hi Simone,
I use the paid version of generate press, but the free version is fantastic too! If speed is important to you (and it should be) then I would go with generate press. It’s very customizable.
Hi Jenny
Thanks
but I have another question, how do I change my picture size, because the are very big now
You should be able to click on the image and edit it. If it is part of your blog post, go to edit post then click on the image and you will be able to edit the size.
Hope this helps.
