Money isn't everything

I know we all joined Wealthy Affiliate for money.

We wanted to have more income, to have money for travel, for family expenses, for personal necessities and luxuries, etc.

Of course, we need money to have a comfortable life. We have to buy food, clothing and to pay bills and mortgages, car loans, and the list goes on.

In our lives, our ultimate goal is to be happy. Definitely, money has an important role in making that happen.

But, money is not everything. The measure of happiness does not depend on how much money we have. It's more about having peace of mind, healthy body, harmonious relationships and full spiritual life.

We cannot say that the rich people are happier than the poor ones.

We just learned of Kate Spade's suicide and her husband stated that she has been having bouts of depression and anxiety. She was known as a fashion icon and the co-owner of Kate Spade handbags. Her money did not buy her happiness and peace of mind.

I believe that if we become slaves to our money, it will make our lives fuller, busier, but more stressful and we eventually forget the basic things that should make us happy. And these things are FREE!

Let us all enjoy our journey here at Wealthy Affiliate but let us not forget that we have to prioritize our families, our friends and sharing things and experiences with them.

We may have planned for posting one to two or more blogs a week but if that week is our kid's birthday or he is having a special project in school and he needs you, forget about writing first and be with your kid.

I'm definitely happy to be here at WA, but I know my priorities!

Happy blogging and let us all ENJOY weekends with our loved ones!

My need for money must not make me to be obsessive for it, and yes do not be its slave.

Yes , let us nurture our relationships and take care of our health. Let us earn and use money wisely.
Thanks for reading.

Excellent post. Yes, we do need money... but the biggest danger is to become a slave to your money. I am happy to be here in WA, I have learned and done so much... I will be happy to make some money... But I have some priorities as well.

Definitely, we have priorities and we need to guard ourselves so earning money is not on the top list.

Thanks for reading!

So true! The real key to happiness is maintaining that work/life balance. Without that balance, success is nothing more than a fat bank account.

Right, a balanced life is the key to happiness.

What do we do with our money if we get sick and lose our family and friends if we don't spend quality time with them?

God bless,

Marita

Very true. I would like to earn an income from this in the future but I am getting great satisfaction and confidence boost from the networking on WA and learning.

Yes, just enjoy learning for now and meeting friends even if we don't earn a lot. I'm sure in the future, with proper timing, our efforts will pay off.

And of course, be happy spending time with family and friends.

God bless,
Marita

Whilst in the long term I would like to make money, the learning and the friendship are a great source of enjoyment to me.

Same here, I am happy meeting friends here at WA and learning from the community.

In the long run, we will all earn something.

God bless,
Marita

Yes we will, as long as we all maintain our positive attitude.

A wonderful truth to be sure! Thanks for posting :D

Grateful for reading my post.

God bless,

Marita

So true, Marita!
You are right, we have to know our priorities.
Money isn't the the key to happiness within, but it helps to make life comfortable, to have food and shelter.

Have a relaxing weekend, have fun with your family!
:-)

Thanks for the nice comments.

You have a wonderful weekend as well.

Marita

Excellent points here! Money isn't everything - it's just a tool that affects other stuff. Family, friends... those are the things that truly count.

Right, let us make wonderful connections with family and friends.

Laughter with them erases our problems and they help us become strong to confront struggles and conflicts.

God bless,
Marita

Totally true. Many of us are here to find financial freedom to pursue the things we actually love (family, travel, etc) so we need to be vigilant against becoming obsessed with chasing increasing commissions.

Of course being obsessed with anything, especially money will ruin our relationships.

Let us have balance with our work and spending quality time with friends and family.

Marita

Well said Marita, great post. I totally agree with you. I would say more, but your blog says it all for me. :)

Thanks a lot for the nice comments.

Enjoy your time with your family and friends!

God bless,
Marita
