If you find your similar niche idea in demoz, is that positive or negative? Then what?
I like your parenting of teenagers niche. That is a great niche. I can contribute some material if you want. I have an 18 year old son and a 21 year old daughter who gave me some really rough times as a teenager. :)
But you decide on one thing that gives you the most pleasure in being able to help people with.

I have just created my first web page and decided that my niche would concentrate more like a social commentary/forum. I wanted to offer a website of support and encouragement and advice for parents of teens. I wanted to specifically target the subject of Respect. However…. I just received a welcome from Kyle and he said that within my own interests that there were certainly areas in it that I could use to find my niche! haha Now, I'm kind of wondering! So, areas of interest and likes include: skiing, camping, biking, and camping. Additionally, I enjoy noshing on chocolate, coffee and wine! Just to make things confusing...
Thanks for your comments. I think we can claim or will claim at some point, the rough times with teenagers! I would most certainly welcome anything you can provide! Thanks for the offer! xx
Do you think that is going to be your niche? I think there is much you can offer to parents of teenagers and you would probably receive more emotional rewards from helping people who are struggling with their difficult teenagers, more so than promoting coffee, wine or chocolate -- not that any of those things are bad. :)
Yes, I think so. I need to finish watching the training videos and then work on the WordPress website. I am also considering taking (separately, of course), a University Writing Course which could tie into this format quite nicely. Obviously, some of this will take some time to set up.
I definitely am drawn to the intrinsic rewards that this niche would provide! Thanks for your help! xx
You are welcome. WordPress can be a challenge to learn. Just today I created a video tutorial on learning the basics of WordPress: Word Press Basics: Toolbar, Formatting, Page Creation & Menu Structure Maybe that will help too.
Hi there Mmhardwick. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. Can you dig a little deeper to narrow the niche any more..?
I have created my web page now. And then overnight, I thought, boy, that was a silly domain… Oh well- I will work with this idea and see how I go. Best wishes on your 'classic horror movies'! xx

If you find your similar niche idea in demoz, is that positive or negative? Then what?
I find extremely difficult to find a niche that has't been tapped before. I mean an exclusive niche. You can try a low competition niche but what I'd say is more important is that you are passionate about it, or at least you like it very much
I believe you are right-especially about pursuing that elusive, one-off niche! Something that you think about when you wake up in the morning that makes you smile, and a satisfaction that makes you smile at the end of the day! Best wishes! xx

It shouldn't be that elusive as long as you don't expect it to be exclusive :)
