Start from the Inside
Our society is so hung up on appearance and image. It is understandable that some of this is necessary. For example, if a job-seeker goes to an interview with hair unkempt, clothes sloppy and/or dirty, and face unwashed/unshaven, he or she can have the best resume and experience on the planet, but an employer won't hire the individual. I wouldn't if I were an employer.
Yes, we want to put our best foot forward in everything we do and say. But when people get so wrapped in "what looks good" at the expense of what they are trying to say or being authentic, there is a problem.
The sad thing is that we put up false fronts, either virtual or RL (real life). Not good. It reminds me of a man standing in front of a mirror. He has a sloppy undershirt and glasses. He is bald, unshaven, and slouchy. The mirror reflects Mr. Universe. In this particular case, let's say Mr. Universe represents our image and the wimpy guy in front of the mirror reflects our real selves.
Within the Wealthy Affiliate community, let's not get so image-conscious, including our websites, content, etc. Kyle talks about following our passions in choosing our niche . As are business people, and whatever our niche, area of expertise, or life passion, we are people first. By nature, we are communicators. Let's have a great time here and truly communicate with one another as we journey towards our success.
