Staying healthy is everyone’s business irrespective of those who may no care about it. No one will be happy to find him or herself every time in the hospital or clinic for the sake of health problems. Our ignorance of infectious diseases around us never remind us of the dangers in our environment on difference kinds of diseases. Everywhere we go, we must meet different kinds micro organisms which chief purpose is to transmit one disease or the others. Thank for our immune system which helps us to undermine these infectious disease in our environment but if we don’t help ourselves by making sure we live a healthy life, the immune system could breakdown and result will not be in our favour.
With these dangers ( diseases) within our environment we are no too safe if we do properly take care of ourselves by keeping ourselves and environment Clean.
This has nothing to do with that fact that being rich or poor determines the degree at which one can either be clean or dirty. Cleanliness is a factor that cannot be under determined because it has a lot of benefits we acquire through it.
I am going to discuss many things we should do to give our body and soul real refreshments to enhance our daily lives for the purpose of living a healthy life. In this discussion, am going to group the factors into healthy food and healthy environment. This may sound childish but very important. Only if one will be patient enough to read through all the information contained in this article.
How environment affect human health.
It should be understood that most of the health challenges we face today comes from the environment we reside. Those that live in dirty environment know how frequent they fall sick and the diagnosis mostly results in malaria parasites as the cause of their being indisposed. Mosquitoes reside with people who live in dirty environment and because of that, until they learn to keep their environment clean, they will continue to host mosquitoes in their homes.
These act of dirtiness comes in various forms which are created by an individual or group of persons most the community.
Individuals create dirty environment by not taking care of their homes like… ….
• Not clearing bushes within and outside their homes.
• Most compound that are not German floored grow weeds and if these weed are not properly cleared, we attract different kind of poisonous reptiles. In this case, the lives of both adults and children are in danger.
• For the houses that are very close to the gutter, individuals living there will always be disturbed by mosquitoes if they don’t form the habit of taking great measures to ensure constant cleaning of the cutter whenever it is found to be dirty.
• Another one is inside our homes. Most of us don’t have habit of cleaning our houses. I don’t know how you feel when your enter someone’s house and everywhere is stinking. If a house is not properly cleaned, the house music stink. For a house to be neat, the toilet/toilets must be washed and perfumed to give a fresh smell. Most people don’t even remember to remove Cobwebs from their homes. All these and many other things that contribute dirt to the house should be taken care of.
• Foods we eat should be properly taken care of during preparation. We should avoid cooking in a dirty environment that welcome all sorts of insects carrying diseases like housefly. Houseflies resides in pit toilets, on dead i
• animals, feaces of both human and animals across the road or beside the house. As long as we don’t keep our environment clean, our food will be contaminated by the dirt carried by housefly and other insects living within the environment. We patronize food vendors that we don’t know how properly it was cooked and how clean the environment it was cooked looks. It healthily dangerous to patronize street food vendors. Good numbers of food cooked by vendors have too much seasoning of which are made with high sweetened ingredients.
Handshake is another way of acquiring dirt and infection. This may sound too exclusive but it the real fact. Imagine someone after putting his or hand in the buttocks to easy an itching or pain and at the same time offers such hand in handshake. Does it sound strange? No we do it everyday and we may not wash the hand when simple foods like fruit is offered to us to eat at the moment. Another bad habit of man is that of putting hand inside your nose to remove dried catarrh and using your hand to wipe your running nose and therefore extends such hand for handshake. Can you imagine that? And we use that hand to eat without washing it thereby contacting infection. We must be very careful and watchful of how and where we use our hand and we should properly wash our hands before we use them to eat food of any type.
FOOD AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BODY
We eat food for growth, nourishment and development of the body.
According to online dictionary,
“Food usually comes from animals or plants. It is eaten by living things to provide energy and nutrition. Food contains the nutrition that people and animals need to be healthy. The consumption of food is enjoyable to humans. It contains protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.” With the above definition everyone understands the duties the food we eat performs in our body and yet same food we eat can be harmful to our body systems. Yes it does if we don’t monitor what we eat at a particular time. There are people who prefer eating processed foods than natural food while others prefer natural to processed foods. We are born naturally and our body will appreciate taking natural food than processed foods. It is unfortunate that processed foods are more readily available than natural food and taste more sweet than natural food. In this case, it very easy to find oneself eating processed foods. Drinks are no excluded this illustration. Is there any better drink than natural water? No, not any drink at all. Yet water is the cheapest of all drinkable. God is wonderful to make what is good to the body so cheap and abundant yet we prefer to spend money buying what is capable of harming our body systems. No matter how expensive a drink is, weather beverages, wine or gin, they can never be compared to the work water performs in human
Water can be defined as, colourless, transparent, odourless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms. You can see how useful water is, but water we drink to keep our body healthy must be pure. Like as I have illustrated earlier, no matter how good water is it must be free from micro organisms that cause various infectious disease before that water can be considered pure. The purity of public water suppliers is still in doubt because of the process it passes through before it gets to the consumers. We are more advised to boil our drinking water, filtered and keep in a secured containers. Our drinking water should be taken with clean cups and we should avoid dipping our fingers inside the cup while drinking especially when our hands are still dirty. Remember the handshakes, things you might have touched that are likely to be infected, the environmental factors etc. Let’s try our best to keep ourselves healthy by taking into consideration all we have discussed in this article.
Cholera is a disease that is capable of killing anyone infested if proper medical assistance is not duly followed. Let’s do the right thing and live a healthy life style.
Before I end this discussion, I will like to talk about medical issues. It not a news that we rightly and ignorantly abuse drugs on daily basis. Every drug is made for different purpose and our body systems vary from one person to another. Therefore we are advised to seek a doctor’s advice before taking any drug to cure any ailment. I have witnessed many cases of drug abuse and drugs reactions in human body due inability of the particular body to accept the nature of the drugs. Doctors stand the best consultant to visit for the best medical advice.
Let me not forget about the importance of body exercise. Yes the body needs to get lubricated through regular exercise otherwise, is very easy to get regular muscular and body pains. In the days when people trekked in movement from place to another usually a long distance is no longer happening nowadays because of easy mobility through motorcycle, bicycle and tricycle. Regular exercise is needed in our body to keep the bones healthy to well support the body. Those who gain weight very quickly should engaged in regular exercise to keep their body weight in the required state.
Conclusively, let us help ourselves to live a healthy lifestyle that will give us longevity.
