Oh man ohhhhhhh mannnnn. Day 2 is out of the way and I spent 7+ hours looking around the site. It's overwhelming but at the same time enjoyable. I think the important thing about IM is you have to really want to do it. You can't do it solely for the money. Because I realize that comes way down the road. You have to do it because you WANT to. I realize that I have only barely scratched the surface, if even that, but I know this is already a passion.

Funny thing is, I went through all of high school not knowing what I want to do. First I thought I was going to become an architect. NOPE. Then a History Teacher. NOPE. Then psychology. NOPE. I graduated and stayed at home and am currently going to CIty College. All my friends are going to big universities but I have to say I dont feel left out. The thing is, I know I have a different mindset than my friends. They are going the traditional way of going to school, writing papers, taking tests, getting a degree and finding a job. Personally for me, I HATE class. I know that sounds very naive and immature, but its true. I can't stand sitting in a class I don't want to learn about. And i went through so many classes thinking it was what I wanted, only to discover in the end that it was not.

It took me a full year after graduating high school to realize that this is exactly what I want. To work hard and have it pay off down the road. Growing up in a family that started a small business it was set in my mind early that I wanted to start my own. But there's not much an 18 year old can do to start a business. Thats when I found IM and WA and oh my, have I hit the jackpot. This is a passion I realize will pay off depending how much I dedicate towards it. That is exactly what I want. I never wanted the go to school, learn something from a class, pass a test, get a job, work 9-5. That has never been in my life plan. Instead I wanted something that would succeed the more I invested in it, whereas getting a 9-5 job means showing up and doing what they tell you to. I'm glad I found WA at an early stage in my life. I only hope that my hard work and dedication will pay off and this can turn into a career. After years and years of trying to pick a career, it is so relieving to see that some people do make a career from IM and I can do the same. This will not be an easy path but it is something that I will fully invest into. Best of luck to everyone :)

If you read this, go ahead and like it if you want. I want to see if someone really read this and understands what I am trying to do.

New here!this looks great

Thanks for checking it out. I am very new also and already in my 2nd day I have learned so much. Give it a shot and keep a straight focus :)

Just to make things clear, I didn't choose not to go to university to pursue Internet Marketing. I discovered IM after my first year at City College was over. I am going to CC because I did not have a career in mind. Since I have a couple more years left at CC before I can transfer, maybe that will be enough time to develop my site and make it profitable. I am hoping by that time I will choose not to transfer and pursue IM fully. If not then I will continue onto going to a university. I just hope i dont have to

It's good to knock-out a major though regardless. Having that degree helps a lot when it comes to jobs and credibility. Even if you're successful and making over $10,000 per month by next year, I'd still recommend getting the major anyway.

Thats good advice. I guess its just the young eager me that wants to only focus on one thing at a time

Matt, because of how I'm a programmer, I do recommend that you explore that area. There's a lot of opportunity when it comes to building your own software or developing for other big companies. Google Developers & Apple Developers just too name a couple. I'm not very experienced in the whole I.M. area, but I would have to say it's not an easy path. I would recommend have a back-up plan of action too, because this sort of thing doesn't come immediately. It takes time, dedication, patience, and work.

Good luck buddy.

The thing is I dont have this sort of passion with anything else to have a back up. It sounds crazy but when I heard of IM and WA i fell in love with it immediately. not because of the promise of money but because its everything i looked for, i just didnt know it before. i havent got that click feeling i have with WA with anything else. ive never looked into programming but that sounds interesting so ill start exploring. I hope in the future I can look back and know i made it because of the help of people like you :)

Hi Matt! I certainly felt the same way when I was in high school! I too did not want any part of going to college...I just couldn't see the point of taking even more classes that I do not have any use for really. I also had no clue on what I really wanted to be either. I absolutely hated school...every year of it actually! Although I do love learning new things, I want to learn what I want to learn and not what someone tells me I have to!

Now that I have been here, I find it enjoyable to learn about IM and building websites! Plus, there are so many people here that I can actually relate with that have a lot of the same opinions and feelings! It's like home to me.

I am sure you will do just fine as long as you follow and do every step of the courses given here. It does take time, but you'll get there with the great attitude you have and some hard work!

Wow! Its so relieving to know that I am not alone. I am in the exact same position of loving to learn but not textbook style. I plan on staying with WA for a very long time. How has your experience been so far? (by the way thanks for reading!)

Hey Matt! No problem, I love to read and you definitely had an interesting post, so keep up the great writing and I'm sure you'll go far!

I've been here since last August and I don't plan on leaving WA any time soon! I searched for a long time for the info I've found here...a few years to be exact! All I ever came up with were scams that always promised to show you how to make money in a week, that same day, or a month...until I found WA, which can sometimes get overwhelming with information overload, but as far as I can tell is just about the only place you will find updated info, plus 24/7 support from not only other members here, but also the owners themselves, Kyle and Carson.

I have a feeling I will probably remain on WA for a very long time since I learn something new everyday and I also enjoy the awesome community here! Best wishes and remember you are not alone here! -Sherry
