Well here's how it went for me:
Day 1 on WA = Hyped! Can take on a WORLD!
Week 1 on WA = OMG it's actually hard work, lots of learning and a responsibility!
Month 1 on WA = It's ok.. I can post something tomorrow.. or the day after....ow I was to busy today again...excuses excuses.
Long story short :p
1. Don't hype :p clear yo mindddd, stay cool.
2. Take it seriously as a job, no messing around.
3. Don't rush it. You'll get braindead.
4. Make a list of top 10 posts ideas for your webby.
5. Make a strict "battle" plan: day+activity.
Example:
Monday - new post (Must)
Wednesday - learning day + website building.
Sunday - Socializing day.

Fortunately I don't have problem with learning and I am sure that I will get involved!
Yeah, making plan is so important...
In the beginning I was like OMG I should have discovered this before. But even after 18 months, I am extremely motivated to reach my full-time income with my website. It takes time but remember you are building an asset that pays even even when you are not working.
Don't expect quick results, those who reach their goals are those who understand and accept the nature of this business, and take massive action to reach them.
