Not feeling good enough. I am taking the day off.

I am so frustrated, and angry. I look around me at all the start up businesses and see how great they are doing. And how fast it's growing. (Some like wild fire). Getting traffic, likes followers members to their groups, in just a couple of hours!!!! While mine goes NO WHERE. I have been working my butt off every day. I was listening to a FB LIVE video yesterday, I posted comments. I wasn't even recognized. The person acknowledged everyone before me and after me. Pissed me off. Also yesterday a woman I know decided to make a business page, and a group. (This is where the lot's of followers and members in a few hours cones in )

I have had my business page up for 3 YEARS!!!!! HARDLY ANYTHING. I POSTED a question on it this morning. No responses so far. I'm like WTF JACK!!! To the whole thing!

With everything I try to do. It is a big obstacle. That gets me nowhere.

So I am taking the day maybe 2 off. I HATE BEING IGNORED! LOOKED OVER PASSED OVER.

Left behind.

I hope you are feeling better. It's always a good idea to take a break and then come back with a new approach..maybe view some of Jay's training to get new insights.
Debbie

thank you. I am feeling a bit better. I have received some tips from some WA members ( friends). and I am putting those in place. I am also slowing down. ( i'm trying not to be in such a rush.) hopefully that helps.

Frustration often gets us down Marcia. The trick is being able to ignore the bad things and concentrate on the good things.

Something I learned many years ago was if someone doesn't like me or what I do that is their problem. I have plenty of friends without them.

Derek

Hi Marcia, try not to compare yourself to others. I am experiencing the same kind of situation. If I let my mind start to make comparisons and it has a negative effect on me, I quickly dis-engage and do my own thing. All the best.

I hear you. I'm dis engaging now!!! about to go off and do my own thing. SAY F* this. it's really hard NOT to compare myself and my lack of progress with those around me. it is not only happening here but, across my life.it has been for quite some time. i don't have any clue why. and nobody that knows me will give me any answers. so I stopped asking.

Hi again Marcia, had to find this for you. Well and anyone else who has doubts in their abilities. Hope you are able to see it. My first attachment.

thank you. yes I could see it. great job with your first attachment..
I made this my "wall paper" on my lap top.

I hope it made you feel a little better. I think you are a great person and I wish you the best.

Thank you lesabre, I am trying to let it sink in. And work with it.

Hey Marcia, so sorry for your frustration. You are expecting too much from yourself. Take a break now and then to let the training sink in.
More importantly don’t compare what you are doing and the results you’re getting to anyone else’s results. Each of our sites, networks and level of knowledge we began with are completely unique. Some people had been marketing online long before they got to WA.
Go back over training and tweak your site or theme for optimal results. I’ve changed mine twice and I’m still on training level 3.
Ask questions in the Q&A thread if you didn’t get the answer you needed during the live training. Or type your questions in the gray “need help” box at the top of this page, you will see multiple answers.
Don’t give up on you! You are doing better than you give yourself credit for!
All the best.
KyleAnn

thank you KyleAnn. I thought I was going along just fine. i understood all the training. did all the steps. what gets me is people that have started pages and groups YESTERDAY ALREADY HAVE 1,000 FOLLOWERS!!!

They could be importing existing pages they’ve worked on elsewhere for 2 years. That’s what I meant when I said you can’t compare because you don’t know their history, and it’s not productive to compare.

Sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time. But to be honest, sometimes we all need a break from this business. Earlier this year I too did a similar thing. I had lost the focus for my website. It seemed like it was becoming too salsey, and not the helpful site I had wanted it to be. I stepped back from the site and started focusing on another project, and suddenly everything became clear. I had the name for my site, and my focus became clear.

I know how easy it can be to become frustrated when you see others achieving results that you're not. In my opinion, the key is to find your personal voice. Don't do what is working for others, because more than likely it will not work for you. You need to go through trial and error and find specifically what works for you and your audience. I personally went through this in the past few months with my Facebook page. I was getting no engagement and became frustrated because I had no clue what I could be doing wrong. When in reality it went hand in hand with my lack of focus for my website. Once I had my target focus, posting relevant content, and choosing the targeted groups for my ads became easier. PS: The number of fans on your page also has an effect on engagement (2-5k minimum)

Take this time away to do something you enjoy. Catch up on TV, reading, or your favorite hobbies. When your focus is on other tasks, suddenly you will have that "eureka" moment that will point you in the right direction. You've got this!

thank you smokeywins. I think I need a big break from all of this. I am about cry I'm so frustrated!

That's perfectly understandable. I just had a thought. Maybe try focusing on just one social media platform at a time. In all honesty, social media takes a lot of time to get consistent engagement, and if you ever happen to take breaks in between, like I've done a few times, every time you return it's like you're starting from scratch.

You'll figure it out, it will just take time. :-)

Hi there. I'm so sorry that things are looking like they are for you. I did go to your profile page to check out your website. I have a few ideas for you if you are interested. I can PM you if you would like me to.
I noticed that you joined WA only in August? Is this correct?
If so, have you considered going back through your website and editing some of your posts with the training that you are learning in WA?
One more question. Have you started a Pinterest account? Just curious how that was doing. I don't get much traffic from my facebook business page, but Twitter and Pinterest and Instagram are doing really good right now according to statistics.
If I could leave you with a word of encouragement, I personally thought your site was very interesting. I believe it is a great niche. So, whatever you do, Don't Give Up!! You've put a lot of hard work into this to just walk away. I know you may need a rest. We all do sometimes. But when you come back, I'd be happy to try to help you or at least point you in the direction of someone who can help.
Oh, and one more thing, Are your Posts being indexed with Google?
All the best,
Wendi :)

Thank you WendaSue. I would love any advice you can give. I do have a Pinterest account an Instagram account and Twitter. My Instagram is just as bad as Facebook. Twitter I don't use much. I have just started re familiarizing myself with Pinterest.
Yes I just joined in August.
I am on part 4 of my training.
Yes I do believe Google is indexing my posts.
Thanks again for your help.
Marcia
