Indexed by Google Already?!

I haven't even made it through my second out of 5 courses completely and I am already indexed by Google. I didn't realize that would happen so fast. Is that normal from everyone elses expereinces? I wrote a long article about women's running shoes and maybe that bumped me up because there were so many keywords?
I haven't really put much of anything on the website yet: www.mywomensrunningshoes.com
I did realize through my research and personal experience how incredibly important it is to have the right running shoes if you are a runner. Then I started doing more research on it for this website and the content that needs to be added. I started learning that there is an entire science behind this! There are academic articles written about the science behind how they engineer these shoes now.
But, really, how big of a deal is it to get indexed by Google ? Especially if you haven't even made it completely through the second course (?)
