Ok, so here's the deal. I've figured categories out. However, they are not doing what i expected them to do, and i've found out why. Basically, the categories lead to a group o

each category actually has it's own URL! In the editor, you can choose to 'view category.'
When you view a category, copy the URL and add the URL as a link on a page.
Check my page on www.winningbeers.com for an example.

Each of my links on those pages are categories!

That is effectively what i'm trying to do!!! Mine is for fish though, so i need a General Information Section... Freshwater... Saltwater... Brackish... And under each one, I need each one of THOSE pages to have the option of... (Freshwater section) African... Community... Tropical... Then further into THOSe categories... Each one needs to be separated into... General... Equipment... Diseases... How to... Breeding... (Saltwater Section) Predators... Reef... Community Fish Only... Then EACH of those needs the same General... Equipment... Diseases... How to... Breeding... Then same for Brackish, only that one won't have the 2nd tier category and go straight to General... Equipment... Diseases... How to... Breeding... So, i need them to be able to select what type of habitat they're taking care of, and then be able to find a solution to the problem in that specific habitat...

What's my best option for doing that? And how would i implement it?

Just create all the categories and subcategories,
then select 'view' on the category you created,
then copy the URL from your browser,
then paste the URL for each category as a link on the page you want them to appear on.
It's manual and takes a while, but it works.

These images show you how to get the URL of each category and sub category.
You then make a link to the URL on your menu page.

Awesome, that's what i'm looking for. Sorry, VERY new to web design... So, yeah, i need baby steps *lol*

Too easy. It took me a while to figure out this part too! Once I am on WA long enough to create training modules I'll be sure to write one for categories.

I'm working on a page that relies on previous information being read first. However, the page is displaying my newest posts first which is the opposite order i need them read a

try this hope it help you

not the same thing, thats for pages, not individual posts on the page

Anyone else know or able to provide insight on this?

There is a wordpress plugin that's supposed to be pretty good. It's called "Posts Types Order". Perhaps that's something you might want to consider.

how do i get this plugin?

Figured it out, and YAY!!! This works EXACTLY how i want it too!!! PERFECTION after HOURS spent searching code index that doesn't exist on previous comments. This is gold!!! THANK YOU!!!

To resort the order of posts, using the WordPress Default theme for example, in the wp-content/themes/default/index.php file, just before this line, <?php if (have_posts()) : ?>, put this:

<?php query_posts($query_string . '&orderby=date&order=ASC'); ?>

I do not see where this is located at. I can not find the WP-Content/Themes/Default/Index.php

Look on the left under Themes should be an Edit option. In there, you should be able to edit your index.php page. Search there for the <?php if (have_posts()) : ?> line.

apparently...my theme does not have this... BUT... Cacao's response worked with a web... something in other plugin work... i WOULD be more coherent and making more blogs while responding to this if i'd have gotten the answer sooner and not more.... "own my own time" so speak *lol*

This should be done in your dashboard/settings/reading

You have to add page into menu: Apperance, Menus, Add to menu.

Not sure what you are asking in the rest, but pages do not have categories (unless you use some plugin).

it is the plugin and allows a drop down box with categories
