What I Want to Do When I Grow Up!
I retired over two years ago after spending most of my career in financial services. Before retiring, I knew I could not just play golf every day and would want to try something else to stay busy. I was leaning toward online marketing, but did not know exactly what or how.
There is a song by Rod Stewart and later by Faces called "Ooh La La". The gist of it is if you only knew what you know now when you were younger. If I had known about WA right from the beginning, I would be so much farther along.
As I write this today, when I was just starting out, I did not have an awareness of all the different skill sets one needs to know to make money online. More on that later, but back to the beginning
I Knew What I Didn't Want to Do
I knew I did not want to sell physical products on Amazon Not interesting enough for me no matter how much money other people are making. Trying to get 5 star reviews for $20 products was just too absurd for me. I'll let somebody else do that. Just not for me.
I had looked at affiliate marketing a few times, but selling other people's products online just did not appeal to me in a big way either.
I see myself more as a consultant, but was woefully short on expertise and experience. I started fooling around with some page builder software. The more I fooled around with those sections, rows and elements, I felt I needed a stronger foundation.
Can't Start Near the Top
So, I took a couple of months to take a few WordPress courses on Udemy. WOW!. Really blown away on how incredible WordPress is. Absolutely love WordPress. Two years ago, I had never even heard of WordPress.
WA's interface with WordPress makes it a breeze. All the heavy lifting is done by WA.
Also, I had no experience in video editing so I took another Udemy course on Adobe Premier Pro. Blown away again on how robust that program is. Determined that it would take me months and months to really become proficient with Premier Pro and it was more than I really needed right now.
So started looking for a program that was free and could handle my simple needs in the beginning. After doing so lengthy research, I settled on Hit4Express, which is fine for right now.
Believe me, I am nowhere close to being as proficient as I want to be, but I do have a better understanding of how things work.
Beware of Those Shiny Objects
As many of you know, we are constantly bombarded with get-rich online offers. Just one of the many offers I receive almost daily was from these two guys who were trying to sell a program that would generate $100,000 a year from just acquiring seven clients really "without doing anything" they claimed.
Now if that were true, where do I sign up? I discussed it with my wife and she said it sounded too good to be true. We both agreed to pass on the opportunity.
Don't fall for these get-rich-quick offers. It just won't happen.
Where to Go from Here
As I mentioned, I had looked at affiliate marketing a few times, but really didn't understand it or want to understand it. I know that I did not want to end up being an affiliate marketer or super-affiliate marketer forever.
I really don't know where my journey with WA is going to end up. But I do like the training and how Kyle and Carson have put this all together. I believe that this training is just part of my building a strong foundation and I will enhance my skill sets along the way.
If you are reading this blog, you know where I am in the WA training. What I have learned is that there are no get-rich schemes that are legal and you have to build a strong foundation of your skill sets to succeed in this business.
I will keep you posted on my journey to success.

We will not be rich tomorrow, but we are working
to have a better life.
Have a nice day!
