That Awesome Ex

Have you ever had that one experience in life that has set you up for the rest of your life? Yes man, you thought that this was too much and there was no way that you would ever make it through this situation but you did. Mind you, there have been numerous situations or circumstances that have come up in your life but there's just this one experience that stands out the most. This experience is now the tool that you have decided to use as your stepping stone and making a better life.

Yep! I do know about such a time and I can tell you that it was not easy but here I am today looking back with an ear to ear grin from time to time, sometimes a chuckle, a laugh out loud or even a tear drop. One thing I do know is that today I’m a better person and still improving.

I had no idea as to why it was happening and the big “WHY ME” surfaced many times with me answering the question and it’s not because I’m mentally challenged by speaking to myself. It’s only because I was the one who was experiencing it therefore I knew I was qualified to answer.

Regardless of how we look at life, we do know that genetics play an enormous role in our past, present, and future lifestyle as well as the choice or decision/s we make today. Individuals may refuse to accept this but let me tell you, “IT DOES” affect us more than we care to believe.

Take a few minutes or as much as hours and look back at your life or the life of your siblings, relatives as well as your parents based on what you have seen or heard. I’m sure that you would agree with the genetics connection whether it’s in a small or large way.

Oh yes! We can decide to make a change by changing our lives for the better or the worse which will affect our future generation one way or another positively as well as negatively. Therefore working towards a better lifestyle to be passed down would be the best thing to do.

Don’t think for a minute that it will be easy and that obstacles will not STAND firm in your way but what an extraordinary experience that day will be when you realize that you have achieved your goal.

WOW! What an experience that was and look at all the things that happened, yet we were not consumed. We made it.

Have you come to the realization that humbling yourself and taking it one day at a time was what you mastered? Did you know that you were also building your “character/integrity”? Did you know that achieving this would one day play such an important part in your future generation?

Well, this is where I have found myself today and building my “character/integrity” is what I was doing and did not even realize. I have looked back and did some soul searching and have proven that I can change my lifestyle regardless of my circumstances.

Don’t worry yourself, you are not that far off to start working towards that change and watch things improve as well as falling into place. Mind you, it will not be easy and self-encouragement as well as will power will have to come into play 24/7’s.

The friends you choose to surround yourself with will also have an effect on you so know who to associate yourself with. Surround yourself with individuals who mean you well not from lip talk but from the heart. Some friends you may loose while you may gain a few or remain with less. Whatever the outcome, know that you are working towards an improved lifestyle for 'YOURSELF' as well as your future 'GENERATION'.

Oops! Here it comes. The nay-sayers will be present 24/7s and this is where your strong will have to step up and take charge. Ask yourself, "Why is he or she in my life? Why do I keep in contact with such individual/s? Is there something that I can learn from him or her? What will be the outcome of a relationship with such an individual? Does he/she mean me any good? How motivating is such an individual whenever things happen negatively or positively?

At the end of answering all these questions and more, you know you'll have to make a few serious decisions. Worry not thyself of the remarks made by others that you show off, too proud, act as if you're better than them or the famous statement, "Look at all the things I did for you". Yep! That's one of the boss of the statements heard regularly.

Pssssst! News flash, I already know what you did for me as well as what I did for you and that's where it should remain as far as I'm concerned. There's no need to post it on the bill board for everyone to see. Our reward is on the way and guess what, you can't access mine and neither can I yours.

Remember now, you have no control over the future but you do have control over what happens or how your life will be in the future by the choices you make today. Therefore, I strongly urge you to get going this minute at building your “character/integrity”.

Whatever circumstances you may find yourself in no matter how rough or smooth it may be, always reflect asking yourself, “What is my lesson here”? There’s always something to learn whether you got a flat tire, a promotion, or even a demotion.

Taking things from this approach I'm sure individuals will find extremely rewarding in the future. We have learned the hard and good way. Try increasing your capacity in ignoring that which can be ignored, think before you speak, attack the issue instead of the individual and treat others the way you would like to be treated. I'm sure that you'll realize that life is much better for you as well as the individuals you come in contact with.
