Don't stick your head in just any ole' hole!

How's that for a title?? Seriously though, it is a word of advice. First off, this could only be my luck...

Last night in the early morning hours, I heard the strangest noise outside. It almost sounded like a child but it kinda sounded a little bit like a sick turkey. I ran outside to see what it was & much to my surprise,

I FOUND MY PUPPY "PIGLET" WITH HER HEAD STUCK INSIDE THE RIM OF A TRUCK TIRE! And it wasn't the center hole... it was one of the outside holes that they cut for the design!

She was yelping & flopping & screaming & jerking. It was an awful sight. I ran over to her to try & help her get out, but there was NO Way it was going to happen. The way the holes are cut it goes in at an angle, so it was bigger going in than it was coming out.

I screamed & woke my boyfriend Matthew up & instructed him to bring me the cooking oil & dish soap to make it slippery. (Didn't work) I even got out my crisco from the kitchen cabinet. (Didn't work either.)

I was on the ground holding "Piglet" in my lap & remarkably she calmed down. But I knew she needed help. I didn't know what to do- (I even almost called 911 to get the fire dept. to come help me! lol) After what seemed like an eternity we decided to try one more idea....

I got out my SAW ZAW w/ the metal cutting blade & as I held "Piglet" Matthew began to saw into the rim. It was loud & the vibration was making my teeth chatter, but Piglet remained calm in my lap. He could only use the Saw Zaw so far & we had to hand saw the rest.

After about 1 1/2 hours of sawing 3 places into the rim, it finally went through & we popped out the piece. We still had to struggle getting little Piggy's head out. But boy was she glad! She jumped and ran and peed & pooped. Then she came back to us, walking WAY around the rim, & proceeded to lick us.

Today she's fine, nut I bet she'll be weary of sticking her head in any more holes!

Wow...sounds traumatic for you and your dog. Glad it turned out OK. I'm sure a lesson was learned

Debbie

yes it sure was! Thanks for reading! I appreciate it.

She seems to be very busy! They are just like children. Oh how mindful they are. I am a pet lover to. Yes, small pups. Well I hope she is okay now. I am pretty sure that was a scare.

She's fine now running around like nothing ever happened.
Seems to be worrying me more than her!! lol
