A novel cancer website is up and running (an unofficial sneak preview for WA members)
To mark my mother-in-law’s birthday today (who passed away from oesophageal cancer a few years ago) and to try to achieve various milestones before I turn 41 in the next few days, I have decided to release my cancer website early. A lot has happened this year - from becoming a GP partner at a NHS practice, a private GP as well and to finally launching a cancer website, which has taken me 9 months to build from scratch! The ultimate aim is to set up a primary care cancer service in the United Kingdom that focuses primarily on cancer prevention and early diagnosis (also for cancer survivors) but the website should help anyone on what I call, their ‘cancer-free’ journey. The website is not quite complete and has no market affiliations nor any membership/subscription charges as yet (Note: finding the time to write the content has been hard enough on top of my day-to-day job e.g. doing the relevant research, going through over 500 websites, making sure that the content is clinically sound, etc.,). On a medical note, please do not rely purely on this website for decisions but make sure to seek advice from the appropriate medical professional (GP, family physician, oncologist, specialist, etc.).
There will be ongoing changes to the website over the coming months so make sure to come back at regular intervals but please do not try to read all of the contents on the website in one sitting as there is just far too much information. As part the of Wealthy Affiliate community, I would like to share this first with you as it is with the help from people like yourselves (and Kyle and Carson) that the website has become a reality. For those of you who have kindly followed me on Wealthy Affiliate (in blind faith without much input from me up until now), thank you for your patience; the website will have a free member’s section to it soon so do subscribe to it when the time comes (but there will also be a paid subscription area down the line as well). Also, any feedback would be much very appreciated but due to time constraints, may I apologise in advance that it will take some time for me to reply more formally to any individual comments on this platform. Obviously, I am not in a position to give specific medical advice in terms of treatment. If you have any good ideas to improve the website or think there is scope for marketing affiliation with your products/services (or know of people who would like to or useful for me to contact) please do not hesitate to give me a shout.
Thank you for your support! The website address is

Hey Paul (MIPO),
I commend you on your courage and vision in launching your cancer website. The need is too great; I only wish something like this would have been online when the dearest person in my life, Zoila got breast cancer. I did not know how to help her. The internet was in its infancy then, and all I read left me more confused. Family doctor and her oncologist were the greatest disappointment!.
Be sure to include medicinal mushrooms in your site. There has been some excellent and successful cancer studies.
I wish on you, your career, your site and your loved ones all of God's Best!

Thank you OcelotI7 for your kind comment. I am truly sorry to hear about your loved one.
It is for this very reason that I have launched the website as there is just far too much out there on the Internet - getting the appropriate level of information at the right time is crucial but sometimes you may not know the fact you don't know (e.g. that a certain therapy/service/investigation/network/community, etc. exists). I remember spending 'hours' trying to find treatment modalities, read up on papers on primary research/clinical trials, going through stuff on conventional/complementary/alternative medicine.... even as someone who is medically and scientifically trained (I used to be a cancer immunologist as well), there is just so much out there. Not only is it difficult to keep up with the latest, but you also need to know what sounds clinically/scientifically reasonable and safe.
Hopefully, if I can make people's lives better starting with this website (quality and quantity-wise), this will make me happy. I will have a further look on medicinal mushrooms. Thanks!
Best wishes,
Paul
