From One Beginner to Other Beginners or Who Want to Begin
The Daunting Task
For those of us who are just starting to learn the ins and outs of internet marketing, it can seem like a daunting task. There is so much to learn. For someone like me who was raised in the 60's and 70's, and who has done skilled labor all of his adult life, it is a whole new world. There are new ideas and new vocabulary. There are the issues of how to get traffic to one's website and how to get rankings. So many tricks of the trade to learn.
There are also many venues that claim to be the best. Some I have tried before, and fell off the wagon, so to speak. There are also a lot of scams to be aware of. There are those who want hundreds of dollars up front. There are those who promise that you will be filthy rich in no time with little effort. I think they are the ones who get rich quick with little effort.
So much to learn.
Conventional Wisdom
Old conventional wisdom followed the idea that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". It was thought that in middle age a person has learned all he or she will be able to learn. The ability to make new neural connections was thought to be shutdown.
The result of this kind of thinking is that one ceases to exercise their brain and mind, presuming it would be useless. This leads to mental stagnation and early old age. We get comfortable with what we know and that comfort zone leads to a rut. A rut, in my opinion, is an endless grave. Many in the western world simply go to work, come home and plop in front of the tv until time for bed and steadily age having no purpose in life. They assume that is all there is.
New Wisdom
What has been learned over the last couple of decades is that you can teach an old dog new tricks. This involves the science of neuroplasticity. What neuroplasticity teaches us is that even into old age what we learn produces new, and if learned correctly, permanent neural connections. Especially if this learning is in the field of one's interest, it can add youthful vigor to a life that is getting tired and bored. It can add happiness to one's years and even years to one's happiness. It can add excitement to a mind that has become bored with life. It is one of the healthiest things a person can do.
How To Go About Recharging Your Brain
There are several ways to recharge you brain and keep your mind young, and be successful well into old age. I list some of these I have learned over the last few years:
1) Decide to. Many just choose to stay in their comfort zones and gel
2) Remove yourself from toxic environments. Many jobs and even households are full of toxins that inhibit the brain and make it sick. Become as chemical free as possible. There are alternatives.
3) Eat healthy. Good fats and oils used properly are a must, as they comprise the majority of the dry weight of the brain. Avoid sugars. B vitamins, whether from food or natural supplements are essential, and lacking in most of our diets.
4) Stay hydrated. While most of the dry weight of the brain is fat, the whole brain is mostly water. It is vital to drink plenty of good clean water. Stay away from fluorinated water- it make the brain dull and eventually sick.
5) Get plenty of rest. Relaxation techniques and meditation can greatly enhance brain activity. Visualization techniques are also very helpful.
6) Make new neural connections. This can be done several different ways. Healthy mind games, such as can be accessed at places like luminosity.com and others on the internet are helpful. You can do the same thing on your own by changing your habits. Try driving a different route. Brush your teeth with your off hand. Even learning to juggle can benefit. Learn new things, be it math, a language, or a musical instrument. All of these make new neural connections and keep the brain/mind flexible and young.
The Opportunity
One way to do this is affiliate marketing. Even though it seems to be a whole new world, learning it makes new neural connections that maintain mental youth. It also helps in another way. One learns more about a subject area that interests him or her, and then writes about it. Doing that fortifies the learning and the new neural connections. It also makes the brain more susceptible to learning in general. In writing about your passion, you help others learn about it, which can instill a sense of importance as well as joy in a person. And it is quite possible to make a living doing that, so that you can concentrate on what interests you.
That is what makes Wealthy Affiliate such a great opportunity. You are provided with the means to go about this. The training is awesome. It is simple, yet thorough. You are provided all the tools to get going. You also have a supportive community of thousands who are eager to help. So, why not get started?

Edited this post, though I see the link still shows the old. Had a feedback that didnt feel well with the original wording, but said it was her personal issue. But, if that is so, it may be with others as well, so it is a good idea to learn from her and change it up a little. Also had at least one typo to correct, and an awkward sentence.
