What To Do If Somebody Thinks You're Blowing Smoke
I don't know how often people involved in say, online marketing, encounter skepticism, that is, skepticism among their friends about their personal ambitions, rather than skepticism about IM in general, so it depends on who the skeptics are.
If the skeptic is somebody who otherwise believes in your potential, that's motivation to succeed, as long as their skepticism is presented in a well-meaning, non-corrosive manner.
If the skeptic is somebody less well disposed toward you, then that's a different kind of motivation, either to prove them wrong or disregard them completely.

Hello, I know exactly what you are talking about here! I have spoken with lots of people who have all experienced the same negative attitudes. It got quite a reaction from a lot of people because at some stage, most of us unfortunately experience somebody close to us that doesn't believe in what we are doing here.
I had experienced it before and thought that there must be others that have experienced the same, so I decided to try and find those people. Turns out its rather common!

I know exactly what you mean. I have been looking at affiliate marketing for many years now, but just have not been ready mentally to dive into the challenge of it. But finding WA was such a gift.
However, many people around me raise their eye brows and comment on me doing anything online, as being a waste of time. That I will never make money or be successful. They thing everything is a scam! Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of people who believe in me, but I come from a family that has always believed in hard physical labour or a 9-5 job, to be the only way to strive for what we want. They think the 'safe' way to earn a living is to leave home and work for a boss.
So me staying home and doing this, I am the only person in my friends/family circle that is doing this. It is looked upon as a great risk. So that only fuels me more to be a great success and I'm enjoying every day, so I'm already succeeding!

You made a very good decision to go out and follow your own path, although it's understandable that skeptics are sometimes misinformed or under-informed, but you'll be able to explain the benefits of training for independence, if not already.
