On my website, www.thepuzzleaddict.com, there are some plain gray squares that I want to remove and I don’t know how to get rid of them, can some please help me?

This is definitely where you would place your featured image. Bottom right hand side in your wordpress edit page for your post.

Hi Mildred,

Just wondering if you are having any other problems with your images.

Lot of great answers. Are you downloading the images first to your computer and then uploading them through the add media icon, select images and inserting onto your website.

This could also be related to the theme you are using.

Best wishes,
Michael

Good afternoon Mildred,

As people have said in the comments below you can put the first photo of your post on that gray space.

By the way, I like your header photo.

Hi - they are where you can add featured images, so that each post has its own picture on the home page.

Open up one of your posts for editing in WordPress. Look on the right-hand side of your screen, and scroll towards the bottom. There should be an option which says "add featured image". Choose a picture you want to use, then click update.

if you add featured images to each of your posts ( edit the post and down the right hand sidebar you will see featured image)
teh ones at the top will be editied in your appearance customize menu somewhere
have fun

this is one reason kyle says to pick a simple plain theme at the start - you can try others out on a test siterubix site to find the one you utimately want.

When you open your WordPress just go to Appearance and choose widgets and see if you can spot the problem from there.

Also could be the menu pages as well.

These plain gray squares. They seem like they were supposed to show a picture or some words can be removed if you know how you put them there on widgets or elementor, on your WordPress.

Go to technical they wil fix it for you

Will it be safe to do with google adsense code added?

Hi Mildred, I have changed my theme several times. As John mentioned below make sure you back up your content before making any major changes.

Best wishes,
Michael

Ok, thanks lesa, appreciate your help

Hi Mildred - just make sure you back up anything you have already created before you switch themes 😎

Hi John thanks so much.

Wordpress compliant themes will not change the contents of your site. All plugins remain configured as they were before. Sometimes, you will need to reset the colors and theme specific settings as they are not always transferable to the new theme.
Allan

Thanks Allan for your help,

Changing your theme is unlikely to cause any problems. Any plugins you have installed should continue to work as before

Thanks Dave, appreciate your help.
