Product
The above is a simple Marketing Matrix
Vertival Line = Customers Horizontal Line = Products
A = Single product to increasing number of customers
B = Single Customer increasing number of products
Y = Single Product to Single Customer
C = Increasing customers and increasing products
Examples
A New Cancer Drug. Vulnerable because a newer drug could be introduced
B. Range of Stationery Products to Uni. Vulnerable they could go paperless
X. Aircraft Carrier to Govn't (big bucks - one off) Govn't changes and cancels
C Supermarket. A raft of products to many customers. Not very vulnerable
The higher up line C you can get the more stable your business
This applies as much to an internet business as one in the outside world.
At first look you would say WA is a one product business with a bunch of customers (Line A) However, not quite true because WA has continuing sales ,month on month. Very much like a consumable product which generates repeat business.
This now brings us to Niches and selection of one ( or more than one) for yours and my
business.
There seems to be choice between heavily populated Niches or one which is not.
Here's a couple which are definately underpopulated:
1. How to race Aligators in Alaska
2. How to Deep Sea fish in the Sahara
3 How to play test cricket by the ECB ( in joke which my OZ followers will understand)!!
You would not make a penny (cent) in the above underpopulated niches.
Highly populated Niches
1. Make Money Online
2. Health and Fitness (Weight Loss)
3. Relationships/Dating
4. Information Products/Technology
5. Cellphones and Gadgets
6. Home Appliances/Tools
7. Education/Studying
8. Cooking/Recipes
9. Pets (Dog training)
10.Hobbies/Crafts
11.Life's Problems/Solutions
12.Shopping (amazon/ebay,etc)
plus Gambling and Porn - neither of which would I touch with the proverbial barge pole!
WA drops into 1 and/or 4 above - both massive markets.
If you elect to enter one of the above massive niches you know that there will be a bunch of customers and you'll start up line A and as you add products which you can introduce to your existing customers you will move towards Line C ... the "Holy Grail" of marketing/selling
Good luck and happy hunting.
