If you are considering using YouTube Live, you have maybe been worried about how it works, and how it will be to go live in front of your audience.

However, many people do not know that you can actually test the YouTube Live feature completely privately and find out exactly how it works before going live in front of your audience.

In this video, I will explain exactly how that works.

Let me know in the comments below if you have used YouTube Live.

Good morning Mikael,

Thank you for this particularly interesting training video, as it's something that I want to do. I was thinking about making a live YouTube video outside with my phone, but I think I am better to start testing out YouTube live at my desk! As this is generally where I create my videos and share my screen.

The two great features that I think are really helpful, is the fact we can go live without anyone seeing us and secondly the fact that we can share our screen. I would have probably made a live YouTube video before, but as I literally, or 95% of the time, share my screen, I didn't think I would be able to make a live YouTube video and share my screen without software!

I have also heard that some people have experienced good results from going live. I believe this is partly due to the fact that there is no editing and secondly, people quite like to see something live and raw, that includes all the mistakes!

Thank you for the mention and the video, Mikael, this is really helpful information. I know you mentioned it to me a few weeks ago, but it encourages me to get up and try YouTube live, or test YouTube live in the first instance.

Have a great day.

Thanks Roy. Glad it helped.

And yes, some people are seeing great results from lives. I think it is best if done consistently so people get used to it, and it, of course, depends on the niche and audience, but it definitely has potential and is worth testing.

Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it.

Thank you, Mikael!

To be fair, Mikael, I normally learn something from your videos, or if I don't learn anything, it encourages me to keep moving forward, so keep them coming!👍

I follow quite a few various different YouTube channels, it's interesting to see how different principles work for different people. It's also interesting that you think live videos would be best carried out, consistently, which is something I hadn't even thought about, but I do know where you're coming from! I do feel it's something I need to test out very soon and just see what happens.

I will keep you posted, Mikael!

Have a great day.

I’m still on the fence, just waiting for the right moment, YouTube is another platform that is helping many entrepreneurs make something happen and I appreciate the fact that you’re sharing how easy it is to create content in a form of a video, do you still have to use algorithms in order to rank ?

Do you mean if you should try to rank your lives? You can, but it entirely depends on your niche, the topic, etc. In general, lives are better for other purposes than for ranking videos, in my opinion, but they can still rank.

many people get big profits from YouTube, but that's not with me, how many times have you tried, but you always fail?

Great info here Mikael! :)

Thanks Kyle.

Good info. Had no idea about using private and unlisted to test. I live streamed last few games from a pool tournament weeks ago and didn't know we what to expect when I hit "Go Live". The second time was a breeze.

Yes, it is definitely stressful if you have never tested it before.

I have never gone live on any platform but I have considered trying it on YouTube just to see if my limited audience would be interested. I can go right now to YouTube and try the testing feature. MAC.

It can be worth testing. No matter what, it is a great learning experience.
