Poor Email List results

Well, as the depressing title suggests, my email list collection is pretty poor. Let's look at the statistics:

Around 500 views, 5 subscriptions

That's like a 1% subscription rate! Right now, I am using SumoMe plugin to create my contact list. I have created a little popup at the top of the each page, and it will always remain at the top even if the reader scrolls down.

A 1% Subscription rate is just too bad and needs lots of improvement. Mind you, the people who come to my site are almost all from my niche, and I don't use traffic exchange. There has to be a problem in my strategy to get emails.

So right now, I am looking to find the problem and hopefully pull the subscription rate up to 5%. It is possible that a small popup at the top of the page is not significant enough. I will go with a popup at the center of the screen as a change. After 5 days, I can draw a conclusion.

I believe that email list is one of the best ways for targeted traffic. Not only does it go to the people you want. the traffic goes in quick. Usually, people who are interested in your website will check the email within 48 hours. The best part is that email lists are free! (Unless you choose to buy email sending services, or whatever it is called)
