I Need Hugs and Advice, Please
My niche is travel related. Let's face it no one is reading about, or planning a vacation right now. Neil Patel has shown an over 40 percent drop in traffic and conversions for travel-related sites.
So, do I just keep writing even though there will not be much traffic and conversions? Do I keep adding content knowing that one day there will be? As in almost if nothing is going on. Or, do you wait to publish? Does traffic play a part in ranking on Google? What do you think?
Even some of the travel locations I promote are closed and aren't updating their blogs or social media. It all seems so surreal.
Today, our state has issued a "stay at home" order, so I'll have even more time to devote to my website and online business. .
When this is all over, we will all need a vacation. Right?
The U.S announced yesterday that they have issued a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory to all countries due to the global threat of the coronavirus outbreak. Level 4, “Do Not Travel,” is the most severe warning.
The U.S. State Department today has announced a Level 4 travel advisory that applies to all international travel. This is to advise all Americans abroad they should arrange for an immediate return to the United States or be prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite time.
If you choose to travel internationally, your travel plans may be severely disrupted, and you may be forced to remain outside of the United States for an indefinite timeframe.

As for me and my 2 cents worth, travel is travel, whenever you go, its still travel. Wishing to go travelling, read about it from your angle. How to travel in these uncertain times, read about it in your article. Focus on the broad picture, when travel is unrestricted. Or, focus on past travels, and post to keep the "hope for travel" alive.
Some of my ideas, at any rate.

It's really a had time for the travel websites. I personally own travel-related websites and I'm also facing the same... poor traffic. And this is usual at this point when the effect of Coronavirus is increasing day-by-day.
However, I hope things will be fine when everything will be normal again.

I believe that after this virus goes away for good, people are going to need a vacation! This time out period will give people time to research and find the first place to go to have a good time after a time of serious cabin fever ! In the meantime start a blog about a STAY cation ! I’ve done the Stay cation a few times when my children were small. We had a swimming pool and fixed it up Hawaiian style. Had cookouts and picnics.. actually more fun and less stress than the regular packing, loading, unloading, being tired and tense.. it’s a wonderful way to stay home and have fun as a family. That's a tough situation you are in Mickey. I would continue writing content but maybe not publish so often. Maybe write some blogs about how travelers should change travel plans like instead of flying long distances, perhaps do shorter driving trips when possible.
I do not know how long this is going to last, but even if it does subside by the summer time, I am still going to take a 10 hour car trip from New Jersey to Michigan in August for my sister's wedding. Doing trips by car can be a great way to experience new places instead of flying over them.
However I would also look into starting a new niche website in a niche that is also evergreen like contributing to a healthier lifestyle or diet. Growing your own vegetables, eating right, and other like niches. Take this worldwide crisis to inspire thoughts on niches that can help those in need.
I agree, car trips can be a great way to travel. You see so much more of the country.
