My Multi-Level Marketing Experience

Today I read a blog post by Kyle - one of the co-founders of Wealthy Affilate on multi-level marketing and why he believes all of these companies are a scam. As a person that is ashamed to admit I have invested more money than I care to speak about in some of the multi-level marketing companies. We must ask ourselves why these companies are successful and why do people continue to join a less than honest endeavor?
I believe the reason that they are so successful is for the mere fact that they prey on people insecurities and vulnerabilites. People need to make income and the simple fact that people can make themselves believe whatever they may want to believe plays into the hands of these less-than honest companies.
It is great to be part of a team and believe everyone within that team is working towards a common goal until that day you learn the truth and realize this is not the case. This the day that you realize that you have been hood-winked into a program that is not going to pay-off.
My personal story illustrates the fallacy behind just one of the multi-level, network marketing scams on the market today. In March of 2013 I joined this particular group and did everything I was told to do. I invested at the minimal level at first but was convinced to make the "real money" I needed to invest more to attract the type of clientele that would that would purchases the higher pricedcourses.
Well, it took me to July 2013 to do so but I finally got all in to the tune of $5,500. On top of that I purchased ads to attract visitors to my site, traffic driving seminars, Facebook and Twitter courses on driving traffic and video training courses as well. In 2-1/2 years I estimated I had spent $16,000 and had very little revenue to show for it. I had written close to 100 blogs as well because I was told this was the key to attracting readers and potential buyers.
Finally I came to my senses realized this program was not working and I needed to look elsewhere. Then I found Wealthy Affiliate and I could not be happier. At the end of the day the only person that is going to make you money is you. I have learned you can make money from blogging but to do so one has to provide valuable content and build relationships with your readers before anyone will buy anything from you.
People buy from those that they know, like and trust. Please remember this in lieu of what ever monies may come your way. At Wealthy Affiliate we have all the tools one will ever need to become successful. We have a forum and chat that will give you the opportunity to ask questions and learn at your own pace. Great advice Michael! I am happy that I didn't join a very big MLM company earlier this summer. I was almost lured by it, but since I am naturally skeptical I just thought it sounded too good to be true (which I think it was/is). The good thing about that, is that I started doing some research online into the money making industry and there I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate. I was a bit worried at first that it would turn out to just another get rich scam but I was pleasantly surprised. It is great, and no I haven't gotten rich yet but I am learning great new things and I just know that I will be successful in the future! Best of luck to you :) /Johanna
