Take this Job and shove it
Have you ever wanted to use that old Johnny Paycheck line for real? I know I sure did. It got to the point where I literally hated to go to work. I had to make myself get up, suit up, and show up. It was miserable. I was miserable, I did it because I had no other choice. There were bills to pay, a wife to support and then..,there was that “R” word.., Responsibility.
If you are like me (and countless other people) you are working a regular job, with long hours, not enough pay and very little appreciation. Limited opportunities for “moving up” are not encouraging and you feel “trapped.“
It Does not have to be that way
Just being on this web site tells me two things. First, it tells me that you are not satisfied with what you do for a living. Secondly, it tells me you are looking for a way out. Welcome to the club. You have a lot of good company.
Not long ago I was in the same situation. Working for a corporation (12 hours a day. 6 days a week), on a blue collar job making just enough money to barely get by. I hated it. I had tried to start my own business (in the traditional sense) several times with no success. So I started looking for a way to do something different.
I started searching the Internet for ways to make a living working from home. Three years and a considerable amount of wasted time and money later (more about that on another page), I gave it up as a lost cause.
Not long ago a situation developed on my job that created a CRISIS. My left knee gave out on me right in front of a company safety man, he saw me almost fall and the next thing I knew I was placed on indefinite medical leave until I could get the knee fixed.
Job security went out the window, my paycheck was cut in half and to put it mildly.., I was in trouble big time. Fortunately for me I had a really good bunch of friends and family and I was able to weather that storm. But it cost me more than money. I suddenly realized how very little it would take to wipe out everything I had worked so hard to earn.
Out of sheer desperation I started taking another look at the Internet. Something inside me kept clinging to the idea that an “on line” business was my ticket to independence. I was right. This time around I tried a different approach to the whole deal. Rather than jumping into those shark infested waters with no preparation I decided to learn everything I could about how to be successful in an on line business. I knew it could be done…butHOW?
You’ve read this much are you prepared to give me just a little more time? If so, I can help you. There is a way to get to where you want to go but just like taking a trip in the car or planning a vacation you have to know where you’re going and you have to have directionsto the destination or you WILL get lost. Your narration sounds familiar and that is what makes it universal and true every time. Thanks for sharing..
Graty4 you are correct sir. The narrative is familiar, you have read it before only from a different perspective. The trick here is to get the reader to identify with me, once that "bond" has been made they are more likely to have to see the end of the story. :0 Or at least that's what I'm hoping. The work is original, it is just my way of telling an old story and hopefully generating some new interest. Good luck with your own journey. :)
I currently enjoy my J-O-B, but I want more for my family. I want to create a legacy and change my family tree for at least a couple of generations. I am tired of a company telling me what I am worth and limiting my income and my dreams. Great article!
Ardent you and I have pretty much the same ultimate goal, to make it better for our families. But I want this for myself too. If I can make this happen, my later years might not look so cramped and nothing will be wasted. I wish you the best of luck at WA, I think we are both going to enjoy the ride. :)

My story is similar except, in my case, it was an eye injury (put a nail through my right eye). I had also been searching for a way out...a way of eventually earning a full time income based on my own efforts, and preferably online. Learning how to do that is crucial and WA provides the education and tools to help me and others to succeed at such an endeavor. I appreciate your sharing this story.
