Health and Business: Bread was killing my progress

Dear Bread,

I love you to all four corners. I love your role in "pizza" and if I could, I would definitely nominate you for an Oscar ( Mayer lol) . You were there, since my younger days, to make my Pb & J sandwiches the absolute best they could be. In the words of Kevin Durant... " You are the real MVP..."

I just thought I write this little love letter to something that has been apart of my life for as long as I could remember. To even be writing this, it pains me to be fully aware that I have to part ways with this beloved staple in my life.

Eating is a necessity to survive. Although this fact is a huge no-brainer, many eat when they are not hungry and eat certain foods that are not good for them. My choice was bread and it wasn't until just recently, I noticed bread got tired of me. So to take its vengeance out on one of it's top consumers, bread decided to affect other aspects of my life, including my performance in my business.


So I know you are asking how, so let me give you a couple examples:

  • Bread made me so tired - the more I consumed it, the more difficult it was to keep my eyes open
  • Bread made me have energy spikes (then dropped me like a hot potato ( its other partner in crime) - The whole "up" and "down" contributed to more inconsistency and procrastination

Of course, I am making fun and light of my relationship with bread but the adverse effects it had on my body image, mental clarity, and productivity was no laughing matter.

I began to feel stuck...

I had soul searched and even questioned whether or not I was just a " lazy" individual. Talking to others made me even question my interest in being an online/ affiliate marketer. Although it has been said on countless occasions that people make time for what they want to do, I was too tired to do the other things I loved.

But oh, things come to you for a reason...check this out

I was looking through my emails one day and saw something about "Paleo dieting." All that I struggled with ( the tiredness, the sluggishness) could be fixed by eating the way our ancestors did, way back in dinosaur time. This meant eliminating gluten, bread, and grains. I struggled with this thought of subtraction, for a while. However, I went for it.

I felt better !

It was hard ( and still is, at times) but I began to feel better. I slept better and this allowed me to have productive days . I felt better and not real sleepy in the middle of the day. I was able to get more done in less time and even had better workouts.

Although, I am still a work in progress, I love the new found energy that I can put into my business. Your body will always let you know when something is not right and makes sure it gets your attention. I have learned that your body, mind, and spirit vision all have to be on one accord in order for you to be successful. Yea, you read this idea in blogs , articles , and books but to truly understand this concept is like hitting the jackpot !

I encourage all to analyze their diet to see if it is hurting your progress in business, in love, and in life overall.

Hi Micaela, If I have not said this before, I love your name! I love bread, pasta and baked potatoes smothered with butter,sour cream and chives! I gave them all up for a Non Sugar diet. Not because I needed to lose weight or I felt tired, but I just think it is better for all around better health. Thanks for sharing. Vel
