Can I transfer my domain to a different HOSTING company?

Hi there community,
Maybe this is something that is a bit weird, but I need to ask this question before I start another website. I just purchased another domain at GoDaddy. It was just cheaper...ups, sorry WA. If I transfer it to WA, can I transfer it to another hosting company at any given point in time again ? Or I am stuck with it at WA? Thanks
