We are in the same storm but not in the same boat

We are now moving towards the end of the Circuit Breaker in Singapore and gradual lifting restrictions phases will take place. The whole world has been experiencing this pandemic and going this period of uncertainty since Nov 2019. Booming business are getting disrupted and unemployment rate has been on the rise.

It seems like we are experiencing the same crisis together. But I must said, “We are in the same storm but we are not in the same boat.”

There are always 2 sides of the coin. One ship could be greatly shipwrecked but another might not and still sailing smoothly.

The question you can ponder upon is “which boat are you in now?”

There are, among us, in a mighty steel armour made battleship, that you are still sailing comfortably in the wake of the storms, without the feel of the slightest hindrance.

There are, among us, in a small domestic boat and all the passengers and you, are all having bad motion sickness.

There are, among us, in a small sampan (a native craft made of planks) may have already hit by the waves and broken into pieces and drowned, in the middle of the storm.

If you are lost in the waves, and just hoping the whole pandemic to be over soon, be warned, this is just the beginning.

The environment that we are in now may not be like we are in the past. We will be in our new norm.

This brings us back to how well, do you know yourself and your environment.
