I have a question is it legally allowed to link to other peoples websites without asking for permiss
I am in a process of coming up with an authoritative website where I want to be linking to other people's websites eg when I write about online opportunities then I leave a lin
If you're going to link to an online opportunity then it's a good idea to become an affiliate of that company so you get paid for your referrals. It's all covered in the Training tab on the left.
Thank you Marion for answering my question, some of the links dont have affiliate programs, but will be resourceful to my visitors. So from your answer it is Okay to link to any website without having to contact owners right? Thank you again
Since the purpose of having a website is to get visitors I would expect that most site owners would be thrilled that you would do this.
I don't know how this would effect your rankings though as part of the ranking is the amount of time people spend on your site. In addition if a link takes them away without the possibility of monetizing the visitor is that good for you in some way that I am missing?
Thank you so much Bryan for now i wanted to offer leads for visitors probably along the way i can moneytize was thinking of an authoritative website, where i want to help people know of resources available that they probably did not know about. Thank you so much for responding

You don't need permission to link to someone else's site. Some training I did of Jay's recommends one external link as part of your content, helps with SEO apparently, as does one internal link (back to another page on your website).
You can even take this one step further and send an email to that site owner and let them know you think their content is great, and that you have linked to their site and provide your page URL for them to check it out. It's called outreach and develops relationships within your niche.
You never know they may repay the favour and link back to your site at some stage.
Backlinks are great for SEO, it shows Google you are an authority site.
