Got my pic published at foodgawker - doing happy dance
Hi WA peeps,
So happy that after 3 rejections, one of my pics got accepted by foodgawker.com. I actually gave up on it and was not checking results anymore. I suddenly started seeing foodgawker traffic when looking at my Analytics (Acquisition, referrals), checked the results and was surprised. If you look at my last blog post, I was feeling down because a friend criticized that my pictures were not good enough.
I vented out here and you guys took my side, boosted me up and gently reminded me to use the criticism to my advantage. Some people gave me expert advice on taking food pictures. I made a DIY lightbox for indoor photography and experimented some more with my DLSR. And now my pictures are way better.
This is such a supportive and amazing community. Every day I am learning something new because people share and give good advice and patiently answer questions. I have been slowly trying to help out as well and am trying to give back. Thanks all and thanks to Carson and Kyle for making this a healthy, thriving tribe.
The pic accepted is up here :-).

This is great news!
That is a lovely pic. Watched a show once about how difficult it really is to photograph food well. It is truly an art and a challenge.
Looks delicious!
Hope that 'friend' sees it!

Maybe I need to watch that show. I have been reading a lot of articles about it. The hero slice, the pour shot, light and shadows. So many things.

Congrats! The picture looks awesome. Now just publish the recipe! lol That looks so yummy and fattening.
It is very yummy but it has zucchini and mushrooms and bell pepper too so less guilt :).
