Got my first PR package! Progress after 6 months of work.

So I have been working on my food blog for about 6 months now. I have about 40 posts. I can only post 2x a week. Initially, I was waiting for my pageviews to go up before I approach companies for sponsorship of posts or free promotionl packages. But I read an article where it said do not wait for your pageviews to grow, monetize your site where you are.

So because of a recent bout with antibiotics, I got interested in probiotics and in brewing my own kombucha, This led to googling kombucha kits online. I thought about ordering a kit and writing about it on my blog. Then I thought, maybe I should try to get a free kit from the company.

I wrote them an email about it. They asked me for a media kit. I put together a 1 page info about my blog, my pageviews(around 6k) over 4 the last 4 months, my social media handles in Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I told them my pageviews are not that high but it is growing, I told them I will not ask for compensation for the post because I am not that established but just want a free kit.

Two days later, they replied and said they will send me a kit! And they offered me a chance to be an affiliate.

Just proves that you have to take action to get results. Now I think I waited too long! So this year, my goal is to approach more companies about sponsored posts, affiliate membership and so on.
