Hitting the Drawing board - Good ideas and Bad ideas
So for the last few days I have been brainstorming different ideas for a successful blog project. The problem is not that I cannot come up with some idea, the problem is finding one that I would enjoy doing. I have made blogs in the passed, I have written blogs on email marketing (Which was what I was about to do actually), along with tips and marketing advice.. I have also done blogs based on my personal faith. And you know, for what ever reason, I just did not enjoy doing them enough to continue doing them or take them seriously. -- I needed an idea that excited me and that I could get up in the morning and look forward to making it happen every day.
Now my problem is actually the very thing that has kept me from succeeding for so long in this industry, that is - money does NOT motivate me.. and therefore it takes alot to get me excited about something. I MUST have a very strong belief in the product, the comp plan is important, but the product is something that I need to believe in in order to have the desire and motivation to sell something. I have to have full confidence in it. That is why I like Wealthy Affiliate so much. Because its a community that I see every new affiliate marketer needs to be in.
This however leaves me with an idea for a blog. In order for a project to excite me, I need an idea that is truly bigger than just myself. Something that gets others excited about aswell.
Something that I can network and involve people that I network with and give others what they want so they visit it, and even share it.
So I think I am going to scrap ALL my previous ideas, email consulting.. program reviews, etc.. I am going to have to do something a little different.
Since I network with about 50 - 120 new affiliate marketers and network marketers every week just on facebook alone, I thought to myself.. wouldnt it be cool to give these people a little piece of my blog, to give them a spotlight, so that they go to it and be thrilled.
One thing a person loves more than anything in the world, is their own name. Would it be cool to create a blog, that shares motivational articles, videos, and positive success stories about other affiliate and network marketers, with their names - pictures and success stories?
-- This blog is going to be a motivational business / sales blog based on the 17 Success Principles by Napoleon Hill, and the concepts which have evolved over those principles and taught by other motivational speakers over the years such as Bob Proctor, Zig Ziglar and others, wrapped around the success stories, and plugs of active readers and blog contributors.. which will be rewarded with recongnition of their personal brand right on the blog itself.
This is something I can engage in while networking with those outside of WA as a way to break the ice with them, and to get them involved with me, and on my email list.. without having to push any products or services on them at the beginning.. as a way to build a relationship with them - And purhaps later show the Wealthy Affiliate.
Its going to be a long process and I may even have a pre-launch for this. Going to be very interesting to see how this unfolds.. Finally a great idea I thought I would share!
