Predictions and Trends for 2012
I am a information addict and I love to read stuff and one of my favorite things to do is to see what other people are saying about trends and how these new developments will effect our society.
Interestingly there are some major trends happening right now, I guess you can say that this is the best century to be living in.
Most of this stuff only happens every 50 to 100 years so it is pretty exciting. I will cover some of the things that I have noticed and then you can share with me in the comments any other ideas you see going on where you live.
Top Trends for 2012 ( I am sure these are not all of them but I thought I would share a few)
1. Sustainable Living - Going Green, Living off the Grid, Organic gardening
2. Mobile Lifestyle - Backpacking, RV travelers, Telecommuting
3. Vintage, Antique Collecting - 1850 to 1963 coins, dolls, autos, sewing machines and memorbilla
4. Arts and Crafts - Jewelery making, digital scrapbooking, handmade items
5. Home Entertainment - Board games, DVD's, Theme parties, Backyard events
6. Bartering - Trading goods and services
7. Home-based businesses - Consulting, Independent Contractors, Freelancing
8. Online Education - Training courses, Online degree programs, Certification
9. Recipes - Cooking, Meal Preparation, Food Storage
10. Video - Producing, Recording, Mini Movies

I personally predict that in the technology field, Tablets and Tablet type laptops are going to be big. I judge this on the continuous rise in sales of notebooks and the introduction of laptop/notebook type keyboards for Tablets and the further connectivity of the two technologies.
I feel sustainable living will become a bigger thing that it is too over hear in England. A rising amount of people are feeling disadvantaged with the low quality of foods etc.
I feel Bartering will take off too. The coming year definitely be an interesting one and so many was consciously and subconsciously. Jump on the ride!
