Progress So Far

After almost a year of actively studying here at WA, I have definitely learned a few things. While I'm not progressing as quickly as I would like, level 2 is now complete. Here's a brief list of what I've learned so far.

  • Pick a niche that you are passionate about. It's always better to write about things that excite you day in and day out.
  • Writing isn't so bad. Getting started sucks! Once you start, don't stop unless you absolutely need to! Momentum is definitely your friend when it comes to writing content, so take advantage of it when it's there.
  • Get involved with the community! The awesome thing about WA is the wealth of training and support from the community. The live chat feature alone got me out of a few jams when I couldn't find answers in the training.
  • If you can, GO YEARLY! This will save you at least a couple hundred bucks a year and only works out to about a dollar a day. How many people do you know that only pay a dollar a day to run their business?
  • Take advantage of the Friday WAbinars with Jay. You can go back and watch them anytime and are an excellent source to compliment the training lessons. I have personally learned a ton of useful information from these. Plus, Jay is an excellent teacher!
  • Site content blows! Ok, maybe that's a little harsh, but I have yet to be impressed by this feature. My biggest gripe is dealing with punctuation, fonts and paragraph placement. It seems like there are just way too many bugs in it. With that said, I really love the site images part of it. Having free use images at your fingertips within site content is nothing short of awesome. My solution has been to just start out with the basic content in the site content area, add images and then copy and paste into Wordpress for final cleanup. This strategy seems to be working much better and hasn't made me want to throw my laptop out the window.
  • One of the final things I've learned over the past several months is DON'T GIVE UP!! Just writing a few sentences a day is progress! Even if you don't feel like writing you can watch a webinar, create training, research content and images, or just simply interact with the community. Either way, you are moving closer to success!

These are just some of the things I've learned here at WA. Now that I will be moving on to level 3 in the training, I'm looking forward to advancing to the money making stage, but who isn't?

I have a feeling things are about to get more exciting!

Enjoy your journey here...
