Hello Wealthy Affiliate. This is my first post. I'm really excited about this new opportunity and this community. For far too long, I have been looking for a way to earn income that can eventually turn into passive income. But first a story about my background. I apologize if this is lengthy.

I went to a local private 4 year college after high school, got a degree in Business Management and from there got a job as a Retail-Sales Merchandiser working at Scott's Miracle Gro as a traveling rep. It was fun, but very hard work and I loved engaging with people, learning about their problems and making recommendations to them about how our products could help resolve their problems. This was only a seasonal role, since we have cold and snowy winters where I live.

I was laid off in September and got a job at a call center that I couldn't stand. We were given a very lame script that we had to stick to that was extremely pushy and I didn't enjoy the unethical practices of the company. I left, thought about my next move and thought to myself that I wanted to get into Medical Device Sales, but I had no concrete sales experience and knew that I enjoyed working with people and thought outside sales would be a better fit for me and figured I could get experience and eventually become a Medical Device Sales Rep.

I was then offered a job at an office equipment company with a fancy title called a 'Solutions Architect' which was essentially a glorified title for an Outside, primarily Multi-Functional Copier Sales Rep. The company Usherwood, was a dealer for high end Canon, Samsung, Lexmark, Microsoft, Cisco, HP and Xerox products. It was a tough hustle, but I had the goal of being one of the best reps in the company. I was extra motivated because my then girlfriend had recently left me for a guy who was a financial analyst, and quite frankly, I wanted to 'set the world on fire' with my success...and also make her jealous. I had a lot of success but was starting to burn out because I was working harder than all of the other reps. Even the Major Account holders, or the 'Majors' as we called them. I was starting to feel dejected because copiers and printers aren't a very sexy product, in a very competitive market, and I was selling to small to midsize businesses whom many did not have the need or cash flow for a high end machine.

I was then approached by a friend who had a basic idea for a produce delivery business, who one day invited me out dinner and drinks and told me about the idea. I instantly started coming up with ideas, and we collaborated and made his original idea pale in comparison. I started working both ends of the candle, long nights after day after day of rejection in my day job. We poured our hearts and souls into this business. And we took it from a dream and made it a reality. It was an online order to deliver produce and grocery business that featured a number of popular local products. We did so well that I was eventually able to quit my job in a October after getting the business officially launched in July (we first had dinner and drinks in January). The business grew and we got into workplace delivery, however we had our fair share of arguments and fights (of which some were physical and initiated by my business partner). I did the books and saw that he was embezzling from our business for his other side business. At first I let it go, but over time this dollar amount grew from $20-30 here and there to several hundred, and then several thousand dollars. I first called him out after a month or two of hoping he would fess up,wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt. He tried to weasel his way out of it and explain it away and told me to let it go. But it got worse over time and turned into other issues and compounded. It all culminated with him luring me to a local park around tax season, albeit after a recent fight where we didn't talk for a full week and still were able to carry out a week of successful deliveries (with the help of our paid under-the-table staff at the time, who we spoke through as messengers to one another). At the park, he proceeded to jump and attack me after we got into an argument and started walking away. He was pure rage and since I was caught off guard wasn't able to defend myself and was pinned and repeatedly beaten. After what seemed like an eternity, I was able to get away from him and call the police...

Fast forward several weeks later

We completed 3 more weeks of deliveries to our customers before splitting the business. I was deeply depressed for months and months after. I felt like I had lost a family member...I had poured my heart and soul into that business and it was on the cusp of taking off.

From here I ended up going back to Scott's as a seasonal employee again, then got a job at a giant payroll company called Paychex- which was a soul-sucking call-center job selling credit card terminals to businesses. I ended up taking the first job I could find to get out of there and save my sanity. It ended up being a job as an Assistant Store Manager at Leslie's Pool. This was a good change of pace, I liked interacting with the customers, got to help people solve problems and recommend products, enjoyed my co-workers...but my boss was a super negative, giant asshole to everyone and made the job miserable. He often would literally talk s*** to the customers (usually on bad days, which were many).

I stuck it out for the better part of 2 years before leaving for an IT company called D**** (truncated to avoid legal issues per my severance agreement) as a glorified customer service agent in the finance department. What seemed like a dream, 'Unicorn' of a company to work for (nerf gun wars, a giant slide connecting floors, sleep pods, cold brew on tap, whiskey wednesdays, openly drinking at work not frowned upon (HR would turn a blind eye) turned into a nightmare. After nearly 3 months I was told I had a meeting, which were fairly regular, later that day. Beforehand, our department had a pizza party where we gorged ourselves on pizza and wings. I was then messaged and reminded about our upcoming meeting. I walk into the conference room and as soon as I turned and walked through the threshold, I saw my direct manager, my hiring manager (a step above) and an HR Rep, and my heart sank. "This can't be good", I nervously thought. I was then told that I was being let go and they couldn't give me a reason for letting me go. I tried and tried to get a legit answer and they refused to tell me. (These bastards literally 'Mob-Style Fired my ass). When I motioned towards going back to my desk they asked me "where are you going?" And I replied, "Well, back to my desk to gather my things...". "WE'LL MAIL THEM TO YOU" was the loud but not-screaming, reply full of arrogance and condescendence. I was so angry, but kept my cool and took the high road, thanking them for the opportunity and ended up getting some severance.

I got home and found an opportunity to take a 5 month full time Certification Course to work in HVACR (Heating, Ventillation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration). I was so done with Corporate America at this point. I saw that the class was literally starting in 2 weeks and signed up. I ended up taking the class, and working as a Grubhub and DoorDash delivery driver to make ends meet (and still do). Our class had to pause our class for about 5 months due to Covid. I ended up graduating, doing well and getting a Certificate of Completion.

I am now currently working for a local HVAC contractor, and maybe it's because I don't have a lot of experience and am brand new, but I'm not really feeling fulfilled. To me, it's simply just a means to an end. A paycheck that slightly more than barely pays the bills. My current GF of 4 years and I want to get a new apartment and we're just looking at apartments online but feel dejected because we cannot afford what we're looking for, and what we can afford would be a downgrade. We're essentially stuck in a Tweener situation. That's when I started looking again for more money making opportunities. I then found this website, and I truly hope it's a godsend. So far so good. I've found that I don't like working for other people, and I have an entrepreneurial mindset and get the most fulfillment in working for myself.

I just made my first domain, and because I like helping people and making money, I called it MoneyMakingAssistant.com, where I can assist people in making money. Whether that be for extra money, starting a new career or business, or in a tight financial squeeze due to the pandemic and looking for extra income. While I don't currently have as much time to dedicate to this initially as I'd like to, I look forward to working towards a time in which I can.

Thank you for reading my long winded story. Hopefully it can help inspire someone else.
