This will be brief, but I'm pretty excited and wanted to share with you guys.

I've been running a backcountry skiing oriented blog/review site for about a month and a half now, and created a post reviewing climbing skins a few days ago. It is a 'best of' post that took a brief look at 7 or 8 different models and last I checked it was ranked 10th in Google for the keywords I targeted.

Today, out of the blue, I received an email from the head of marketing for one of the brands that was in my review asking if I would be interested in doing a long term test of one of their products. Free gear and it will be great content! Needless to say I emailed back with enthusiasm, so fingers crossed it pans out.

Just the other day I was saying to my wife that I would be happy just to get some free gear out of this internet marketing experience, but I never expected it to happen this quickly.

Moral of the story - keep at it. You never know when a certain article/blog post will catch the right person's eye.
