I'm Goin IN!
Well....here goes nuthin!
I originally had no intention of blogging here on WA, but later thought better of it for a few reasons:
- This can function as a great journal to record my thoughts in-the-moment (which I can refer to later)
- Blogging my progress allows me to measure my growth
- It's a great way to describe sticking points, so people can help me more easily
- Once I start getting consistent results, it just may help the next noob behind me
And all of that stuff definitely applies to my situation. But my reservations were holding me back. Hell, those same reservations kept me stuck in the mud for the better part of 2 years!! Anyhow, that's all behind me - it's time for some new growth. So this is my deal with the blog; I intend to track my journey through the process of gaining consistent profitability while learning a new skill. And the primary skill at hand is building a profitable website.
Okay. So I've completed Course 1, Getting Started & am now on to Course 2, Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website, specifically, "Building Your Own Theme-Based Content". Now, to be honest, I have created websites before. And they're still out there, doing nothing. So the creation part I think I'm cool with. BUT I am committed to learning this skill, so I'm going over the training with a fine tooth comb. And the truth is, I'm getting a little nervous, because i could never drive consistent traffic to my sites before & that's the whole enchilada.
So please WA, bear with me here! This post is (probably) nothing more than some damn nervous rambling, but I've gotta get it out. You see, it was my ego that prevented me from making progress before. What I mean is that I've always been a DIY kinda guy. [Yeah, I'm into the macho thing] And when I reached a sticking point previously, I would scour the forums, do a gazillion google searches, and pour through all the crap sitting on my hard drive. But I wouldn't ask anyone for help. At all. Ever.
So now I've turned a new leaf. Because after some soul searching--I feel like I let too much time pass by being stubborn & prideful--my decision is that I would rather learn this valuable, life-changing skill, than stick to my stupid freaking pride. [You know, that sounds kinda awful when it's all written out] I really wanna get this, so I will do what it takes to get it. And for me, that means TWO things:
- I plan to ask for help plenty of times, because I need it.
- To atone for past sins, I want to make this growth public. Maybe the next guy will learn from it.
If you've stuck around this long, I thank you. It gives me some comfort knowing that someone here at WA is listening to me spill my guts.

Thank You for your reply TheAnswer! It sincerely means a LOT to me. You know, it's hard for a man to admit that he can't do it himself (at least, it was for me). Now that I have finally come to terms with it, I feel better. Energized even.
So, my question to you sir is, how long did it take for you until it finally started to come together? Honestly, I'm still getting those foreboding thoughts. The doubt weighs me down, like I'm the one person that can't figure out IM. I really hope I can break through this time.

That's funny you have doubt because I see you are a Premium Member. I'm still a free member and the amount of free information is amazing. I've ran into bad schemes that at first seem promising, but once you have invested so much money all the hidden fees and drawbacks came in. With just a free membership at WA you are already able to host 2 websites free and monetize from them. It don't get better than that. It's like I got hired on the spot here with no interview needed and the training is awesome! I don't have any doubts and neither should you. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

In fact, I just can't shake the feeling that I should be so much further along in this thing, but I know what's held me back before....it was inaction. Simple & plain, I just wasn't throwing my hat into the ring on a consistent basis. Well, those days are done. It's time to get some results.
