I made a sale!
So even though I haven't so much as logged into my website for about 2 months, it finally happened a couple of weeks ago. I made my first sale and earned $18 commission.
Seeing what I have learned and the hard work that I put in here paying off feels really good. I have a new job now as a manager so I really don't have time to put into this anymore but I know now that it does work.
If I was going to start this over again, I would choose a different niche... One that I know I could come back to again and again and not be bored with. And one where my personal experience could provide value that couldn't be found elsewhere. I think you need to approach this with the mindset of it being your new hobby, you have to really enjoy it to the point where you don't mind if you do or don't make money.
Also I've realised that no matter how much effort you put into SEO, it is going to take time to pay off. A new domain takes months to rank well so being patient and not getting frustrated is really important.
