Guest Blogging
I do not write a lot of blogs here mostly because I feel like I have nothing to share, but today I feel like I should share. I checked my email this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find an offer from a similar site for guest blogging. They found my site edatingsolutions.com while searching google and liked the content. They would like to guest blog for my site and have me do the same for theirs.
To me this means a few things:
1. They like our content
2. Our site is getting noticed
3. We are becoming an authority in our niche
I see this as a great opportunity to collaborate with people who are in a similar niche to mine and an opportunity to build each other up. This proposal in a way helps me to realize that progress is being made toward success because this is the third site that has expressed interest in working with my site.
Has anyone taken advantage of guest blogging opportunities? What was the outcome? Do you have any advice for me?

I have activated my SSL but it still says my site is not secure. Do you know why that would be?
Yes, I have just gone through this myself and was helped by Patsy (one of our ambassadors).
This is what you need to do: SSL: Activation, No Padlock, Mixed Content and Google Search Console It's really easy to do and will only take you 5 minutes :)

I'm just getting started with it, Matt - first guest blog went up a few days ago on my site - I expect my guest blog to be published yet this week on the other site. We are both WA members and the process has been fun and productive so far with learning on all sides. Too early to see details in terms of SEO impact, but I'm optimistic.
I think cross promotion is a great idea when two sites are complimentary without being direct competitors. It probably can work for competitors as well, but that can be tricky IMHO.
